Menovasin is a drug for external use, which has a pronounced analgesic, locally irritating and distracting action.

Form of release and medicinal composition

Menovasin is available in the form of an alcohol-based solution intended for topical use. The preparation is produced in glass bottles of dark color in volume 25, 40 and 50 ml in a cardboard box with the accompanying instruction with the description. The contents of the vial are transparent, colorless, with a distinctly visible smell of menthol.
The composition of the drug includes the main active ingredients - menthol, benzocaine and procaine (novocaine). As auxiliary components, ethanol is 70%.

Pharmacological properties of the drug

Menovasin has a pronounced irritating and analgesic effect on the skin. Pharmacological properties are due to the components of the drug components.
Menthol when applied to the skin surface irritates the nerve endings, promotes the reflex expansion of closely located blood vessels and the strongest blood flow. The patient feels cold when applying menthol to the skin, thereby reducing the pain threshold, eliminating itching and discomfort.
Included in Novocain are a topical anesthetic with a moderate analgesic effect. When these substances get into the skin, sodium channels are blocked, which prevents further transmission of nerve impulses along nerve fibers.
Benzocaine has a similar therapeutic effect to Novokain.
