lyophilisate of acidophilus lactobacilli of the group of eubiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus) - 50 mg (but not less than 100 million viable microorganisms);
estriol - 0.03 mg.
The auxiliary substances of the active core are:
lactose monohydrate - 625.6 mg;
microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) - 183.7 mg;
carboxymethyl starch - 30 mg;
magnesium stearate - 6.67 mg;
sodium dihydrogen phosphate - 4 mg.
Form of issue
In the pharmacies Gynoflor is supplied in the form of vaginal biconvex tablets (another name of the form of release - suppositories Gynoflor E) oval shape of 50 mg each, which are fixed in blisters of aluminum foil or PVC for 6 pieces. Tablets are white or light beige with interspersed (intermediate shades of the specified colors are possible). In the carton pack, 1 or 2 contouring cell plates are inserted.
pharmachologic effect
The components of the pharmaceutical preparation Gynoflor E are part of the physiological mechanism for maintaining normal vaginal biocenosis. This is the main goal of using the drug in conservative therapy.
Acidophilic lactobacilli - the dominant fraction of microorganisms living in the vagina of a healthy woman. They have antagonistic activity to the harmful and conditionally pathogenic microflora. The mechanism of the protective function lies in the isolation of microorganisms of bacteriocins and hydrogen peroxide, natural antibiotic substances. Thus, the purity of the reproductive organs is maintained.
Also useful bacteria are able to balance the physiological parameters of the environment for the normal course of metabolic processes. Lactobacilli ferment the glycogen of the vaginal epithelial cover to lactic acid and, thus, maintain an acidic pH of 3.8-4.5.
Estriol is an artificially synthesized compound, which in its chemical structure is identical to the female sex hormones produced by the ovaries (in particular, short-acting estrogens). A component of the drug has a specific pharmacological effect - it affects only the mucous membrane of the vagina. It stimulates the growth and reproduction of the epithelial part of the internal cover of the sexual organs of a woman, as a result of which the functioning of the natural barrier against infections of all kinds improves. Also, this cell structure contains glycogen, which is necessary for the normal cycle of vital activity of the physiological microflora of the vagina.
A special role in the pharmacology of Gynoflor tablets is played by auxiliary substances. For example, lactose, which is part of the drug, can be fermented with lactobacilli to lactic acid in the early periods of conservative therapy, when the proliferating effect of estriol has not yet developed at full strength.
Vaginal tablets are used not only for a disproportionate violation of the microflora of the internal environment of the female genital organs, but also with hormonal imbalance. Gynoflor is actively used during periods of menopause and postmenopause, which are usually marked by symptoms such as:
itching;
burning;
dryness in the vagina;
soreness in intercourse and urination.
By promoting the normalization of the epithelium of the genitourinary system, these symptoms are arrested by the action of estriol on the cover layers. According to this mechanism of pharmacological influences of Gynoflor, it can be used as a preventive preventive measure of dystrophic inflammatory pathologies.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
After the introduction of the drug into the vagina, the composite components are released gradually, as they disintegrate under the influence of internal environmental factors. Lyophilized bacteria have only a local effect and are not absorbed into the systemic circulation. Their influence is noted after a few hours.
Estriol with intravaginal application is able to be absorbed from the inner surface of the vaginal mucosa and enter the systemic circulation. The maximum plasma concentration is observed 3 hours after the administration of the pharmaceutical preparation. Estriol does not cumulate (after repeated administration, the plasma concentration corresponds to the amount of unbound estriol) and does not affect the production of endogenous hormones of the estrogen series (estrogen and estradiol), since it is their terminal link in the metabolic chain. Compound components of Gynoflor with urine are excreted for 8 hours.
Indications for use
resumption of physiologically normal microflora after local or systemic treatment with antibiotic drugs;
light and moderate severity of bacterial vaginosis or candidiasis (a pharmaceutical preparation can be used both as a conservative treatment and preventive disease prevention);
not specific vulvovaginitis;
urogenital infectious diseases (usually sexually transmitted);
atrophic vaginitis as a result of the following etiological factors - an estrogen deficiency during menopause or accompanying hormone replacement therapy;
bacterial secretions of unknown origin (Fluor vaginalis);
in complex medicamentous treatment, against the infectious nature to maintain the normal microflora of the woman's body.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity, hereditary or acquired intolerance to the constituent components of the pharmaceutical preparation;
malignant neoplasms, dependent on estrogen (in particular, when the process is localized in the mammary glands, uterus, ovaries or vagina);
diagnosed or suspected endometriosis;
hemorrhagic discharge from the vagina of unknown origin;
endometrial hyperplasia;
use in girls before puberty (before sexual intercourse).
Side effects
As a rule, vaginal tablets are well tolerated by the female body, however, in some clinical cases, the following adverse effects of treatment may be observed:
burning sensation, foreign body, sensation of heat or other kind of discomfort after drug administration;
allergic reactions - redness and swelling of the mucous membrane of the vagina or external genitalia;
arterial hyperemia and pruritus of the vulva.
In the case of a random oral administration of a pharmaceutical preparation, no adverse effects will be observed.
Gynoflor E, instructions for use (Method and dosage)
Instruction for suppositories Gynoflor E prescribes the deep introduction of vaginal tablets into the vagina. It is recommended to perform manipulation in the evening, before going to bed, as at night the absorbing capacity of the body is much higher. For ease of use, the tablets are administered in the supine position on the back, with a slight fold of the legs in the knees - thus the opening of the female genital organs is maximally open, and therefore the use of the drug practically does not cause discomfort.
The course of conservative therapy differs from the indications for treatment with the drug:
To restore the normal microflora of the internal environment of the vagina and the proliferating effect on the epithelium, 1-2 tablets are used daily for 6-12 days. More precise recommendations should be obtained from the attending physician, as they depend on various indicators of the body and the type of pathology.
In the treatment of atrophic injuries during the menopause and postmenopause, the dosage of the drug is reduced to 1 tablet daily for 6-12 days. Further maintenance therapy is carried out even less amount of a pharmaceutical preparation - 1 tablet 1-2 times a week is used. The duration of the first therapeutic phase is set by the doctor according to the individual hormone level during the period of conservative sanation.
For the period of treatment with the pharmaceutical drug Gynoflor it is recommended to abstain from sexual contacts or regularly use barrier methods of contraception, so that the therapeutic effect of the drug is not reduced by the exogenous intake of a pathogenic or conditionally pathogenic microflora.
Overdose
There have been no recorded cases of drug overdose in a clinical practice.
Interaction
Lacto Acidophilic bacteria, which are one of the main constituents of the drug components, are extremely sensitive to a wide range of antibiotics, because carrying out antibacterial therapy of local or systemic nature significantly reduces the effectiveness of the use of the pharmaceutical preparation.
Storage conditions
Pharmaceutical preparation Gynoflor should be stored in a dry place inaccessible to children and for direct sunlight at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius (in no case can not freeze the drug, because in this way all the pharmacological properties of the constituent components will be lost).
A short storage of Gynoflor (not more than two weeks) in a temperature regime of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius will not lead to a decrease in its therapeutic effectiveness.
Shelf life - 3 years.
special instructions
The components of the drug Gynoflor E can not completely dissolve under the influence of internal factors of the vagina. In this case, the remains of the vaginal tablet can be found on the lower or bed linen, but this does not affect the effectiveness of the drug (the residues are auxiliary substances that have fulfilled their pharmacological task).
In cases where the dryness of the vagina is noted, the tablet should be wetted before it is administered with a small amount of ordinary water, in order to facilitate its faster dissolution. During the period of conservative treatment, women are advised to use gaskets if the suppositories are additionally wetted.
Gynoflor E does not affect the possibility of prolonged concentration of attention, small motor skills, coordination of movements and the ability to drive vehicles or other potentially life-threatening mechanisms.
With alcohol
Alcoholic drinks in no way affect the therapeutic effects of the pharmaceutical product, and therefore the use of alcohol is not prohibited during the course of conservative treatment.
In pregnancy and lactation
The components of the Gynoflor preparation do not have embryotoxic, teratogenic or mutagenic effects on the development of the fetus, because the drug is allowed to be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding (lactation). However, conservative therapy in the first trimester is recommended only under the constant supervision of qualified medical personnel and regular diagnostic tests.
Reviews about Gynoflor E
Reviews on Gynoflor endlessly praise the pharmaceutical products. The vast majority of women who use the drug for conservative therapy, recommends the use of vaginal tablets at the slightest deviation of physiological parameters. Their opinion is based on the fact that the components make it possible to protect and improve the nutrition of the mucous membrane of the vagina. For a woman, this manifests itself in a good state of health, complete elimination of unpleasant symptoms of hormonal imbalance or invasion by harmful microorganisms and, of course, painlessness of the sexual act.
Strangely enough, but the source of positive feedback on Gynoflor E suppositories is not any pharmaceutical forum, but thematic Internet communities for women. There are a lot of posts about the fact that one should not be afraid of side effects, after all, if they do, they are observed only immediately after the introduction of the vaginal tablet, and not during the entire conservative course of treatment.
Separately it is worth noting the professional opinion of qualified doctors and pharmacists about the drug. Like the vast majority of women who used vaginal suppositories, the medical staff also remains content with this drug. In clinical practice, cases of overdose are not known, and therefore, even if the therapeutic regimen of taking or increased doses of the pharmaceutical preparation is not affected, adverse effects or side effects are not observed. Positively characterizes Gynoflor and the duration of the course of sanitation, because it is an infinitesimal time interval for restoring the normal functioning of such important organs for women.
