Form of issue

pharmachologic effect

Local antibacterial and antifungal.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Polygynax Virgo is a combined antibacterial and antifungal medicinal product in a dosage form specially developed for use in pediatric gynecology.
The active ingredients of this preparation have a bactericidal action aimed at the destruction of pathogenic Gram-positive bacteria (including corynebacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, etc.) and Gram-negative microorganisms (including Enterococci feciium, enterobacter aerogenes, Escherichia coli, hemophilic rod, vulgaris proteus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, ureaplasma urealitikum).
Also, the complex of antibiotics included in the preparation is characterized by a fungicidal action against pathogenic fungal strains and is particularly effective in combating yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida albicans (thrush), cryptococci and histoplasm.
Use of vaginal capsules Polygynax Virgo not only productively resists the above pathological pathogens of various diseases, but also contributes to the improvement of trophic processes in the vaginal mucosa.
When intravaginal administration of capsules, all the active ingredients of the drug are evenly distributed over the surface of the vaginal mucosa, where their local fungicidal and bactericidal effects manifest themselves in full. Due to the local use of capsules, the absorption of their active ingredients from the vaginal mucosa into the systemic circulation occurs in minimal, inessential volumes.

Indications for use

Vaginal capsules of Polygynax Virgo are indicated for use in pediatrics, namely pediatric gynecology, for the therapy of cervicovaginitis; fungal, nonspecific, mixed vaginitis and vulvovaginitis.
It is also practiced to use the drug for preventive purposes before performing diagnostic intrauterine procedures and performing surgical operations in the genital area.

Contraindications

Before injecting Polygynax Virgo, the female child should be convinced of the lack of personal hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients (active and auxiliary) drug, including the capsular shell, since such a high sensitivity can lead to the formation of various, sometimes severe, allergic reactions . In the event that a child has a sharp negative response to any substance that is part of the dosage form, the capsules of Polygynax Virgo are strictly contraindicated.

Side effects

During the treatment with the use of Polygynax Virgo, the formation of allergic reactions, often associated with increased sensitivity to the ingredients of the capsules, was sometimes observed.
With prolonged use of these vaginal capsules, it is possible to develop systemic negative side effects inherent in aminoglycosides, which can be amplified in cases of a failure in the patient's renal function.

Instructions for use

The official instruction for Polygynax Virgo allows the introduction of capsule contents exclusively intravaginally (inside the vagina). The recommended dosage regimen presupposes the use of the 1st capsule daily after the evening toilet procedure, on the eve of sleep.
For the correct use of vaginal capsules, it is necessary to incise its pointed protruding tip and, by lightly pressing the capsule itself, enter the contents of the dosage form into the vagina. The capsule used in this way must be disposed of (thrown into garbage).
Both the therapeutic and prophylactic use of the drug Polygynax Virgo, as a rule, takes 6 days (unless otherwise indicated by the pediatrician).
If necessary, to skip the introduction of emulsion from one or more capsules, resumption of treatment is carried out at the usual recommended daily dose (1 capsule in 24 hours).

Overdose

Cases of overdose with the use of recommended doses of the drug was not observed.

Interaction

Polygynax Virgo is not recommended to be used in parallel with spermicides because of a possible decrease in the therapeutic effectiveness of the drug.

Storage conditions

The temperature characteristics of the storage of capsules should be in the range of 15-25 ° C.
Shelf life - 18 months.

special instructions

Vaginal capsules of Polygynax Virgo containing an emulsion with active ingredients included in it have been specially developed for use in pediatric gynecology for the treatment of girls and adolescent girls.
During the course of therapy, the patient should refrain from using intravaginal tampons (if they are used). There is no need to interrupt the therapeutic course during menstruation.
If the patient is diagnosed with kidney failure, consult a pediatrician before starting treatment, as this may require a change in the dosage regimen for this pathology.
The duration of application of the drug should be limited to a minimal effective term in order to prevent the emergence of resistance to its active ingredients in certain pathogenic pathogens of diseases, as well as to reduce the risk of possible reinfection.

Children

Vaginal capsules of the drug Polygynax Virgo are specially designed for use in pediatrics, namely in pediatric gynecology.

During pregnancy (and lactation)

Due to the use of the drug solely for the treatment of girls and adolescent girls, a description of its positive or negative effects during pregnancy and lactation is not provided.

Reviews

Parents who used this remedy to treat their children with bacterial and / or fungal vaginal infections, the causative agents of which are sensitive to the active ingredients of the drug, almost all give positive feedback about the Polizinaco Virgo. For children (girls and adolescent girls), this dosage form, namely capsules with a vaginal emulsion, fits as best as possible on its uniform distribution throughout the mucous surface of the vagina and the effectiveness of the action, and in total with minimal absorption into the systemic circulation is also relatively safe (in comparison with oral antibiotics).
