Form of issue

Produced Biprol in the form of tablets, film-coated, with an active substance of 5 mg and 10 mg. The medicine is packaged in 10 pieces per cell pack, 3, 5 or 10 packs in one pack.

pharmachologic effect

Tablets have antiarrhythmic, antihypertensive and antianginal effect.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Biprol is a selective beta 1-adrenoblocker, which does not have internal sympathomimetic activity and membrane-stabilizing properties.
When taking this medication, the renin activity in the plasma decreases, the need for oxygen supply to the myocardium, heart rate in a different state decreases. This indicates that the drug has antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic and anti-anginal action. Low doses of Biprol are able to block β1-adrenergic receptors of the heart, lower catecholamine-induced formation of AMP from ATP, decrease intracellular calcium flow, reduce myocardial contractility, inhibit conduction and excitability, and so on. When the drug is prescribed in high doses, then its beta2-adrenergic blocking effect is noted.
The hypotensive effect of this drug can reduce the minute volume of blood, sympathetic stimulation of peripheral vessels, reduce the activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, helps restore sensitivity with lowering blood pressure and affecting the central nervous system. During treatment of arterial hypertension initial efficiency is manifested after 2-5 days, and a stable effect - 1-2 months.
The antianginal effect of the drug reduces the need for oxygen in the myocardium, due to a decrease in heart rate and contractility, diastole lengthening and improvement of myocardial perfusion.
The manifestation of an antiarrhythmic effect is associated with the elimination of arrhythmogenic factors, a decrease in the rate of spontaneous excitation, and so on.
The administration of Biprol in moderate therapeutic doses has less pronounced effect on organs that contain β2-adrenergic receptors, for example: pancreas, skeletal muscles, smooth muscles of peripheral arteries, uterus and bronchi, and also on carbohydrate metabolism, does not retain sodium in the body.
Internal reception of the preparation is accompanied by a good absorption from the digestive tract, which is 80-90%. At the same time, food does not affect the process. The maximum concentration of the active substance in the blood plasma is found after 1 to 3 hours. The connection with plasma proteins reaches almost 30%. It is noted that a small amount of substance penetrates into breast milk, through the placental barrier and GEB. The metabolism process predominantly occurs in the liver. Excretion is carried out with the kidneys, a small part with bile.

Indications for use Biprol

The main indications for the use of this medication are:
    IHD: prevention of angina attacks;
    arterial hypertension.

Contraindications for use

The drug is not prescribed when:
    shock, for example, cardiogenic;
    collapse;
    edema of the lungs;
    acute and chronic heart failure;
    AV-blockade II and III degree;
    severe bradycardia;
    the age of 18 years;
    Cineatrial blockade;
    syndrome of weakness of the sinus node;
    angina of Prinzmetal;
    arterial hypotension;
    bronchial asthma and chronic obstruction of the lungs;
    lactation, pregnancy and so on.

Special conditions

When treating Biprol, the patient should be monitored regularly with the measurement of heart rate and blood pressure, ECG, blood glucose - for diabetics. Elderly patients should follow the work of the kidneys. In addition, when starting treatment, it is necessary to investigate the functions of external respiration if the patients have respiratory system disorders.
It was found that the effect of beta-blockers in smokers was reduced.
When using contact lenses, remember that during the treatment period, it is possible to reduce the production of tear fluid.
Therapy of patients with other complicated forms of chronic diseases should be carried out with caution, as often the manifestation of some unwanted symptoms is masked for others. For example, diabetes mellitus does not exclude the disguise of tachycardia caused by hypoglycemia.
When it is necessary to perform an operation using general anesthesia, the drug is canceled 48 hours before the prescribed procedure. Biprol treatment also stops when a depressive state develops.
However, it is contraindicated to discontinue treatment, since it is possible to develop severe arrhythmias or myocardial infarction. Therefore, the abolition is carried out gradually, with a decrease in dosage within 2 weeks.
During treatment, care should be taken when managing any type of transport or engaging in other hazardous activities requiring special attention and prompt response.

Side effects

You should know side effects of the drug before you buy Biprol online.
Biprol treatment can develop unwanted phenomena affecting the activity of the nervous, cardiovascular, digestive, respiratory and other systems. In this case, manifestation is possible: increased fatigue, weakness, dizziness and headache, sleep disorders, depressive state, anxiety, confusion, asthenia and tremor.
The probability of development is preserved: changes in heart rate, conduction disturbances of the myocardium, arrhythmia, chronic heart failure, lowering of blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, problems with stools, painful sensations in the digestive tract, respiratory disorders, and so on.
Do not exclude deviations in the work of the eyes, the emergence of allergic and dermatological reactions, as well as general violations.

Biprol, instructions for use (Method and dosage)

As instructed on the use of Biprol, take the medicine inside, once a day, better in the morning, washing down with liquid.
Tablets are taken as a whole. The choice of dosage is performed by a doctor and depends on the characteristics of the patient, taking into account his heart rate and blood pressure.
For example, with arterial hypertension and ischemic heart disease, a single daily intake of 5 mg is prescribed. If necessary, gradually increase the dose to 10 mg. Therapeutic dosage for patients suffering from arterial hypertension or angina pectoris may be 20 mg, to a single dose per day.

Overdose

In cases of overdose Biprol may occur: arrhythmias, ventricular extrasystole, severe bradycardia and lowering blood pressure, AV blockade, difficulty breathing, bronchospasm, dizziness, fainting and convulsive condition and so on.
In this case, symptomatic therapy is usually performed with the following: gastric lavage, the appointment of adsorbents and other procedures.

Interaction

Simultaneous therapy with Biprol and the use of allergens can cause severe systemic allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.
The combination with iodine-containing X-ray contrast drugs increases the risk of manifestations of anaphylactic reactions.
Phenytoin and preparations of general anesthesia increase the severity of cardio-depressive effect and the likelihood of lowering blood pressure.
In addition, Biprol can change the effectiveness of insulin and other oral hypoglycemic drugs, masks symptoms of hypoglycemia in the form of tachycardia or increased blood pressure.
Combination therapy with cardiac glycosides, methyldopa, reserpine and guanfacine, verapamil, diltiazem, amiodoron can lead to development or aggravate bradycardia, AV blockade, cardiac arrest and heart failure.
Nifedipine, diuretics, clonidine, hydralazine, sympatholytics and other antihypertensive drugs can significantly reduce blood pressure.
It should be refrained from the simultaneous administration of bisoprolol and MAO inhibitors, since this greatly enhances the hypotensive effect. Usually between the therapeutic courses of these drugs stand the interval of 14 days.

Storage conditions

The medicine is stored in a dry, dark place protected from children, at a temperature of up to 25 ° C.
Shelf life - 3 years.

Alcohol and Biprol

During the reception of this drug, you must refrain from using any alcohol-containing products, as they lead to an increase in the inhibitory effect of bisoprolol on the functions of the nervous system.

Reviews about Biprol

As the reviews on Biprol show, when prescribing this medicine many patients are frightened by a list of possible side effects. Therefore, often, having studied the instruction, people believe that this is not only a curative, but also a very dangerous remedy, which makes tablets simply forbidden for them.
However, the majority of patients who have already been treated with Biprol have reported good tolerability in combination with high efficacy. Moreover, for some patients this drug is better suited than, for example, the original Concor.
A similar opinion about this drug is expressed by specialists. Many of them often appoint Biprol to their patients. Clinical practice shows that the side effects of these tablets develop in isolated cases and usually they are only a headache.
Biprol is one of the most popular and highly effective drugs. If it is taken correctly, the treatment brings lasting and lasting effect. The main thing is that the appointment of therapy should be performed by a doctor who will be able to evaluate its effectiveness.
