    antianginal;
    hypotensive;
    antiarrhythmic.
The drug can reduce the sensitivity of tissues to catecholamines, reduce heart rate and contractility of the myocardium, inhibit the secretion of renin. Also, the medication prevents an increase in blood pressure under stress and physical exertion.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

After taking the medication quickly, completely absorbed from the digestive tract. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached after two hours (the bioavailability index is about 85%). Poorly passes through the placental and blood-brain barrier, moderately soluble in fats. With blood proteins binds slightly above 50% betaxolol. Metabolized betaxolol in the liver, in the form of metabolites (over 80%) is excreted by the kidneys. The half-life is about 20 hours. When hemodialysis, betaxolol is not removed from the bloodstream. The drug is not addictive.

    orthostatic hypotension;
    decreased blood pressure;
    palpitation;
    AV blockade;
    violation of myocardial functions;
    chest pain;
    manifestation of angiospasm.

With the appointment of large doses, difficulty in breathing is recorded in predisposed patients.
From the endocrine system:
    hyperglycemia;
    hypothyroid condition;
    hypoglycemia.
From the sense organs:

Instructions for use (Method and dosage)

The medicine is taken orally, with water, without chewing. Observe the reception mode is facilitated by calendar packing with the instructions of the days of the week. The daily dose of the drug is 20 mg. It is recommended to stop treatment gradually, reducing the dose of the medicine in stages to the minimum. Otherwise, the withdrawal syndrome develops.
Instructions for the use of Lokren for patients with renal pathology are somewhat different. Thus, patients with renal insufficiency are prescribed an initial dose of 5 mg / day. With hepatic failure, the daily dose does not require correction. The first 100 hours of therapy with betaxolol require increased attention on the part of doctors.

Overdose

When taking high doses of medicament there are:
    dizziness;
    heart failure;
    bradycardia;
    arrhythmias;
    decreased blood pressure;
    fainting condition;
    cyanosis of the palms, nails;
    difficulty breathing;
    atrioventricular block;
    ventricular extrasystole;
    convulsions.
It is recommended to take enterosorbents and emergency gastric lavage. At registration of a bradycardia or fast falling of a BP appoint or nominate 1 mg of a glucagon. If necessary, additionally, a slow infusion of isoprenaline - 25 μg or dobutamine - 10 μg / kg. If heart failure is detected in a newborn, as a result of taking betaxolol by the mother during pregnancy, immediate hospitalization with long-term administration of isoprenaline and dobutamine in large doses under the supervision of specialists (pediatrician, pediatric cardiologist, resuscitator) is required.

Interaction

With the joint use of Lokren with antiarrhythmic drugs (diltiazem, verapamil, amiodarone, quinidine), the risk of myocardial dysfunction increases dramatically. With the joint use of the drug with floktaphenin, the risk of developing arterial hypotension is increased. In response to the use of halogen-containing anesthetics, Lokren can weaken the compensatory capacity of the heart. NSAIDs, glucocorticoids, antacid, enveloping agents reduce the effectiveness of Lokren.
With the combined use of tricyclic antidepressants, blood pressure drops sharply and orthostatic hypotension is formed. When using Lokren together with dihydropyridine derivatives in patients with heart failure (latent flow), the probability of arterial hypotension increases and cardiac decompensation is formed. Do not recommend taking Lokren along with MAO inhibitors.

Storage conditions

Store at a temperature of 15-25 degrees, in a dark and dry place.

When combined with hypoglycemic agents, Lokren is able to mask symptoms of hypoglycemia in patients with diabetes mellitus. The treating doctor should warn patients about the need to control the sugar level. Lokren should be used with caution to people with diabetes mellitus, bronchial obstructive syndrome, atrioventricular blockade (I st.), Heart failure, pheochromocytoma, circulatory disturbance, psoriasis. In the case of a planned operation, Lokren should be canceled 48 hours before the general anesthesia.
