Pharmacological properties

It is a herbal preparation. Calendula / marigold flowers contain triterpenic alcohols (triols, diols, monools), triterpene saponins (glycosides AF), glycosides, flavonoids (including quercetin and isoramnetin), hydroxycoumarins (including umbelliferone, scopoletin, esculetin), fatty acids, essential oils (T- cadinol, alpha-cadinol), water-soluble polysaccharides (ramoarabinogalactans, arabinogalactans), picture-anodes (tsezaxanthin, lutein). Calendula flowers reduce the permeability of capillaries, increase the metabolic function of the liver (reducing the concentration of cholesterol and bilirubin, improving the composition of bile), stimulate the reparative processes in the gastrointestinal tract. The drug increases excretory and secretory functions. Enhances the growth of granulations, improves regeneration, suppresses the vital activity of streptococci and staphylococci.

Indications for Calendula flores

Locally: inflammatory pathology of the throat (laryngitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, pharyngolaryngitis, sore throat) and oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis, pyorrhea, periodontitis, inflammatory-dystrophic form of periodontitis); cracks in the anus, hemorrhoids.
Inside (as part of a combination treatment) - chronic gastritis, cholangitis, cholecystitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Outer: bruises, cuts, eczema, purulent wounds, burns, mosquito bites.

Method of application of calendula officinalis flowers and dose

Calendula flores is taken orally, used topically and topically. Inside take before meals, 2 - 3 times a day for 1 - 2 tablespoons of infusion; the duration of therapy is 3 - 4 weeks, if necessary - 6 weeks. For rinses of the pharynx and oral cavity, 3-5 - 1 glass of warm infusion is used 3-5 times a day.
Preparation of the infusion: 3 tablespoons of raw material (10 g) are poured into enameled pots with 200 ml of boiling water, covered with a lid, heated for 15-20 minutes in a water bath, then cooled for 45 minutes at room temperature, then the remaining raw material is filtered and squeezed, the infusion is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
When applying filter bags: in an enamel or glassware, 4 filter packets of 200 ml of boiling water are poured, covered with a lid, insisted for 0.5 hours, then the filter packets are squeezed out and the volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.
The infusion is shaken before use.
Tincture: inside (as a cholagogue) - before meals, 10 - 20 drops, 3 times a day; at an eczema and bruises use in a kind of lotions an aqueous solution of a tincture (1 teaspoon per 1 glass of water); cuts are treated with a cotton swab; for rinsing the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat - 0.5 - 1 cup of an aqueous solution of the tincture.

Contraindications for Calendula flores

Hypersensitivity, exacerbation of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, acute gastritis, calculous cholecystitis, lactation period, pregnancy, age of 18 years (for oral administration).

Restrictions on the use

For tincture: alcoholism, liver pathology, brain diseases, craniocerebral trauma.

Side effects of Calendula flores
