Composition
The composition of the preparation may vary slightly depending on the form of release of Ribomunyl:
Tablets, in addition to the basic active substance, include silicon (0.5 or 1.5 mg), magnesium stearate (2 or 6 mg), sorbitol (up to 294 mg or 98.4 mg). The number of additional components depends on the mass of the initially titrated ribosomes - in the first case, the active constituent is 0.75 mg, and in the second - 0.25 mg. Also, proteoglycans of the cell wall are added to the preparation in an amount of 1.125 mg or 0.375 mg.
The basis of the granules is a mixture of active components is the same as in tablets with the amount of bacterial ribosomes - 0.75 mg. Ie in structure is available: carbohydrate-protein components of membranes (1.125 mg), magnesium stearate (2 mg), silicon (0.5 mg) and sorbitol (98.4 mg). However, to enhance the effect and improve the pharmacodynamics, D-mannitol up to 500 mg and polyvidone up to 10 mg were added.
Form of issue
The drug is available in two typical forms:
Rounded, biconvex milk-colored tablets without taste and smell. In the blister is 4 or 12 pieces, depending on the amount of the biologically active component.
The whitish granules are odorless for the preparation of a drinking solution in the form of a crumbly powder. For 500 grams in a bag, of which 4 pieces in a box, that is, only 2000 grams of the drug.
pharmachologic effect
The complex of ribosomes and membrane proteoglycans are components of the causative agents of the upper respiratory tract, which in abundant amounts contain antigenic structures identical to bacterial ones. These components stimulate the production of specific antibodies, that is, they have an immunomodulating property activating the defense systems against organisms against common strains of staphylococcus, streptococcus, klebsiels and others.
Membrane carbohydrate-protein elements can also affect the nonspecific immune response, which manifests itself as:
Intensive macrophagal and leukocyte phagocytosis.
Strengthening the activity of factors of resistance of the body (synthesis of serum and secretory immunoglobulins, interleukin-1 and gamma-interferon).
Due to the development of biologically active mediators of the nonspecific immune response, Ribomunyl can be used not only for treatment, but also for the prevention of upper respiratory tract infection.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
It is not possible to trace the pathways of the components of the drug experimentally, however, there are theoretical ideas that the ribosomal-proteoglycan complex is lysed by the immune cells of the organism at the time of their activation. Otherwise, after absorption, biologically active substances enter the systemic circulation, where they interact with non-specific factors of protection.
Indications for use
Ribomunyl is recommended to use for the prophylaxis of slow, recurrent infectious lesions with possible severe complications. Especially often it is used in children's practice, starting from the age of 6 months, the preparation necessarily enters a course of conservative treatment of such lor-pathologies as rhinitis, otitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis.
It is also recommended to use Ribomunyl for the prevention of infectious respiratory tract infections in people at appropriate risk groups:
often ill;
with chronic pathology;
in the presence of bronchial asthma;
if the work is associated with occupational hazards (miners, builders and so on).
Contraindications
First of all, from the therapeutic course of this drug should be in the presence of intolerance or hypersensitivity to the composite chemical components of the drug.
It is not recommended to use Ribomunyl in autoimmune pathologies, as this will cause deterioration.
Use of the drug with nodular periarteritis and HIV infection is possible only with constant medical control (during inpatient treatment in special departments).
Side effects
As a rule, Ribomunyl is well tolerated in all ages. However, at the beginning of the course of treatment, transient undesirable manifestations, such as:
Hypersalivation - increased salivation.
Dyspeptic phenomena - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain.
Systemic allergic reaction to the components of the drug - angioedema, urticaria, generalized itching.
A sharp rise in temperature to 39 degrees Celsius.
Instructions for Ribomunyl (Method and Dosage)
The preparation is administered orally, on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning hours. A single dose depends on the pharmacological form:
1 tablet with a dose of the active ingredient 0.75 mg.
3 tablets, if the main substance is 0.25 mg.
The contents of one sachet, dissolved in boiled water, if the original form of the drug - granules.
Scheme of the therapeutic course: initially the drug is used the first four days a week for three weeks. Further, to maintain a constant concentration of components - for the next five months - the first four days of each month. Thus, a stable strengthening of the body's immune system is achieved.
Instructions for use Ribomunyl for children under 2 years old has its own characteristics. So the therapeutic course of prevention can be divided into two periods of three months, if there are difficulties with the introduction of the drug in the child's body. It is also necessary to observe the infant for a while, because the drug can cause breathing problems with organic immaturity of the respiratory tract.
Overdose
At the moment, there is no reliable clinical evidence that this pharmacological drug can cause an overdose.
Interaction
In pharmaceutical practice, cases of adverse drug interactions with Ribomunyl have not been described. So it is safely prescribed with antibiotics, bronchodilators and anti-inflammatory drugs.
Terms of sale
Ribomunyl is dispensed in pharmacy kiosks without a special prescription form, since it has no serious side effects and contraindications with possible fatal outcome.
Storage conditions
The drug should be stored in a dry place inaccessible to young children, at a temperature of 15-25 degrees Celsius.
Shelf life
Under the storage conditions, the drug remains active for 3 years.
In pregnancy
Special clinical studies of the action of Ribomunyl on the mother and child during pregnancy and lactation have not been carried out, therefore, it is possible to use the drug only under the supervision of qualified medical personnel.
Reviews about Ribomunyl
References of doctors about Ribomunyle confirm all the positive aspects of its use in the pathology of the upper respiratory tract. Clinical practice shows that even with slow, recurrent infections, the prevention of ribosomal-proteoglycan complexes of bacterial origin reduces the course of conservative treatment and promotes rapid recovery.
Dr. Komarovsky advises in his TV programs and on the official website to apply Ribomunyl and its analogues in children's practice. "Do not wait for the disease, it is much better to avoid it by using effective prophylaxis with immunomodulators" - that's what he says about it.
Reviews for Ribomunyl for children: the majority of parents at various forums advises to buy the drug only in the proven pharmacy kiosks, since there are known cases of counterfeit medicinal product, which can adversely affect the health of the child.
