It is a solution of highly purified sodium hyaluronate obtained by bacterial fermentation. Sodium hyaluronate is a natural polysaccharide, which is a structural component of the tissues of the eye (in particular, the vitreous humor).

Action on the body of Vismed Multi hydrogel

Sodium hyaluronate is similar in effect to the prehygous tear film, having the same mucoadhesive and hydrophilic properties. In medium and high concentrations, sodium hyaluronate acts as a corneal protector, stimulates regeneration processes and has an anti-inflammatory effect.
The distinctive physical characteristics of Vismed preparations are high viscoelasticity and the ability to retain water, which leads to the formation on the surface of the cornea of ​​a uniform, persistent for a long time, pre-groovy film that does not wash off when blinking and does not cause a decrease in visual acuity. A low viscosity during blinking and an increase in viscosity between blinks ensure complete coverage of the eye surface, preventing dryness and irritation.
The ionic composition and concentration of ions in Vismed solutions are identical to the natural tear, which allows you to quickly restore the water-electrolyte and water-salt balance of cells.
Vismed solutions are hypoosmolar, which makes it possible to compensate for the hyperosmolarity of the altered tear fluid and prevent its penetration into the cracks, limiting the damage to the cornea.

Indications for Vismed Multi hydrogel

Contraindications

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

If it is necessary to use together with other ophthalmic agents, it is recommended to observe intervals of at least 30 minutes between instillation of Vismed and other eye drops. The use of ophthalmic ointments is permissible after 30 minutes after instillation of Vismed.

Dosing and Administration

Instillation. 1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac of each eye, pulling the lower eyelid. 1-3 times a day, depending on the severity of the condition. The frequency of instillation is determined individually and depending on the sensations and recommendations of the doctor. Frequent instillation is not required, because the solution creates a lasting stable coating on the surface of the eye. It can be buried at night and applied to contact lenses (hard or soft), without removing them and not clouding the view.

Side effects

At the beginning of the application of Vismed Multi hydrogel, a brief burning sensation may occur during the spread of the drug. This feeling quickly passes, because the solution forms a transparent visco-elastic stable layer, providing long-lasting moisturizing and an ideally smooth and complete coating of the eye surface.
