Composition

One tablet of Pantocalcin contains 250 milligrams of calcium gopantenate.
As auxiliary substances, potato starch, calcium stearate, magnesium hydroxycarbonate are used.

Form of issue

The drug is available in the form of tablets of 10 pieces in cell contour packs, 5 packs in a pack of cardboard and 50 pieces in a polymer bank.

Pantocalcin is a nootropic drug, its spectrum of effects is related to the presence in the GABA structure. It has neurotrophic, neuroprotective and neurometabolic properties. It inhibits the acetylation reactions, which are present in the mechanisms of inactivation of sulfonamides and novocaine (procaine), thereby prolonging their effect. It causes detrusor tone and inhibition of the pathologically increased bubble reflex.
It exhibits analgesic effect, normalizes the GABA content for alcoholic intoxication of a chronic nature, and also increases physical and mental performance. Has anticonvulsant properties.
The drug stimulates anabolic processes in neurons, increases the resistance of the brain to toxins and to hypoxia.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Pantocalcin is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum content of active substance in the blood plasma is observed after one hour. The greatest concentration of the drug is created in the skin, stomach wall, kidneys and liver. It is not metabolized. Displayed within 48 hours in unchanged form.

Indications for use

For adults, the drug is used for:

    memory disorders, impaired concentration, decreased performance due to chronic stress, increased psycho-emotional and physical stress;
    complex treatment of epilepsy, including one that is accompanied by inhibition of mental processes;
    disorder of urination of a neurogenic genesis, including with pollakiuria, day and night incontinence;
    complex therapy of senile dementia;
    diseases of the nervous system that are accompanied by pain (cervical osteochondrosis) and trigeminal neuralgia;
    treatment of the consequences of craniocerebral trauma;
    complex treatment of the consequences of neuroinfections and encephalitis;
    complex treatment of cerebrovascular insufficiency, which arose due to atherosclerotic changes in cerebral vessels;
    combined therapy of schizophrenia;
    akinetic and hyperkinetic neuroleptic syndrome;
    organic lesions of the brain, accompanied by violations of cognitive functions.

Pantocalcin for children are used when:

    various forms of cerebral palsy;
    complex therapy of epilepsy;
    a clonic form of stuttering;
    syndrome of hyperactivity, trembling of limbs and convulsions, which are accompanied by attention deficit;
    neuroses;
    cerebrostenic syndrome (oligophrenia);
    perinatal encephalopathy;
    delay mental and mental development.

Contraindications

The drug can not be used in the first trimester of pregnancy, severe renal dysfunction and individual sensitivity to the components of the drug or a derivative of gopanthenic acid.

Side effects
