Act
The drug Ergoferon contains the main active components that suppress the activity of a number of biologically active compounds that are synthesized by cells of the immune system. Due to this, several major therapeutic effects are realized:
Antiviral effect - the suppression of the activity of viruses of pathogens of various acute respiratory viral infections (acute respiratory viral infections), which include influenza, parainfluenza, respiratory syncytial, adenoviral, rhinovirus infection.
Immunomodulating effect - improving the functional state of the immune system, which primarily concerns the protection of the body against pathogenic (pathogenic) bacteria, viruses, fungi, the simplest unicellular microorganisms. This makes it possible to carry out prevention and complex treatment of various infectious diseases, including some atypical infections (legionellosis, atypical pneumonia).
Antihistamine action - blockade of H-histamine receptors, as well as the suppression of the activity of histamine, which are responsible for the development of allergic reactions.
Anti-inflammatory effect - a decrease in the concentration of mediators of the inflammatory reaction of prostaglandins, which are responsible for the development of pain, swelling of tissues, increased blood supply to blood vessels, as well as an increase in body temperature.
Modern research methods do not allow to reliably estimate the speed and completeness of the process of absorption, tissue distribution, metabolism, as well as the elimination of the active components of the drug Ergoferon.
Indications for Ergoferon
The use of the drug Ergoferon is indicated for the prevention and treatment of various infectious diseases, which include:
Flu.
SARS, including parainfluenza, adenoviral, respiratory syncytial, rhinovirus infection.
Herpes infections (herpes simplex, ophthalmic herpes, herpes lips, genitals).
Meningococcal, enteroviral meningitis (infectious inflammation of the lining of the brain).
Acute intestinal infections caused by various viruses (enterovirus, adenovirus).
Bacterial infections caused by atypical pathogens (mycoplasmas, legionella).
Also, the drug is used to prevent the development of secondary bacterial infection on the background of viral diseases that cause a decrease in the activity of the immune system.
Contraindications
The main medical contraindication for the use of the drug Ergoferon is individual intolerance to any of the components of the drug. Reception of the solution for oral administration is also contraindicated in case of an established violation of digestion or absorption of certain carbohydrates in the intestinal lumen (glucose-galactose malabsorption, lactase deficiency, carbohydrate intolerance to lactose) and children under 3 years of age. Before you start taking pills or a solution of Ergoferon, it is important to ensure that there are no contraindications.
Dosing and Administration
Ergoferon tablets are designed for sucking. They are not chewed and dissolve in the mouth until dissolved. The solution is taken using a spoon, the volume for a single dose is 5 ml. The average recommended dosage for the treatment of viral infections is 1-2 tablets or 5-10 ml of solution in the first 2 hours every 30 minutes. Then within 1 day, another 3 doses of the drug are performed at approximately the same time intervals. Then take 1 tablet or 5 ml of solution 3 times a day until complete recovery. For the prevention of infectious diseases, 1 tablet or 5 ml of solution is taken once a day for a sufficiently long period of time from 1 to 6 months. Children aged 6 months to 2 years before taking a pill should be dissolved in a small amount of boiled water (1 tablespoon).
Side effects of Ergoferon
In general, the drug Ergoferon is well tolerated. Sometimes, against the background of its use, it is possible that reactions of individual intolerance to the components of tablets or solution may develop. The appearance of signs of the development of negative reactions is the basis for discontinuation of the drug.
Special features

The use of the drug Ergoferon during pregnancy and lactation is possible only if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
