Composition

In 1 effervescent tablet contains 330 mg of the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid, as well as auxiliary components: aminoacetic acid and citric acid, as well as sodium bicarbonate.

Form of issue

Alka-prim is produced in a tablet form of medicinal form (effervescent form).

Analgetic, removes inflammation, antipyretic.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Combined medicine. Active substances: glycine, acetylsalicylic acid.
Under the action of acetylsalicylic acid, the process of synthesizing prostaglandins is suppressed.
The glycine component of the Alka-prim preparation helps to reduce the acidity level of the gastric juice to pH 6-7, which allows to significantly reduce the irritating effect of acetylsalicylic acid on the mucous walls of the digestive system.
The medication begins its operation in half an hour after taking. The maximum effect is achieved and observed after 1-3 hours and lasts about 3-6 hours.

Indications for use

Alka-prim tablets are prescribed for hyperthermia (against a background of viral infection, "colds"), and also for the purpose of arresting the pain syndrome (severity: weak and medium): myalgia, headaches, arthralgia, etc.
Instructions for use Alka-prim recommends the appointment of a medication for dyspeptic disorders (including gastralgia amid alcohol abuse, a burning sensation in the epigastrium, heartburn).

Contraindications

Alka-prim tablets are not prescribed for nasal polyps, for blood clotting disorders (such as thrombocytopenia, hemophilia), with intolerance of active components (acetylsalicylic acid and other drugs of the NSAID group, glycine), with a deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, feeding and children until the age of 12 years.
To elderly people, as well as to a group of patients with renal system pathology, with ulcerative lesions of the digestive tract, medication is prescribed after preliminary consultation of narrow specialists, assessing possible risks.

Side effects

Allergic responses: bronchospasm, urticaria, allergic rhinitis, lacrimation, shock (possible loss of consciousness), angioedema.
Digestive system: epigastric pain, decreased appetite, nausea, short-term vomiting.
Hemostasis system, cardiovascular system: collapse, changes in the cellular composition of the blood, development of bleeding.

Alka-prim, instructions for use (Method and dosage)

The instructions for use contain clear instructions on how to take Alka-prim: the medication is pre-dissolved in ¾ cup of boiled water (1-2 tablets), the resulting solution is taken orally during meals 3-4 times a day.

Overdose

In case of overdose, ringing and tinnitus are recorded, timely symptomatic therapy is required.

Interaction

Alka-prim is able to enhance the effects of valproic acid, insulin, oral forms of anticoagulants, glucocorticosteroids, methotrexate, drugs of the NSAID group, ethanol.
The drug weakens the effect of sulindac, naproxen, piroxicam, fenoprofen, diflunizal, sulfanipirazone, indomethacin, ibuprofen, as well as medications that block tubular secretion.
The hematotoxicity of Alka-Prim increases with simultaneous therapy with drugs with myelotoxic effect.
