Composition

In one patch, 13.3-14.7 cm long, 9.5-10.5 cm wide, there are 700 mg of active lidocaine and such inactive auxiliary compounds: 3367 mg of purified water, 2,520 mg of glycerol; 2800 mg of sorbitol, 1400 mg of polyacrylic acid solution 20%, 700 mg of sodium polyacrylate, 700 mg of carmellose sodium, 700 mg of propylene glycol, 420 mg of urea, 210 mg of kaolin, 210 mg of tartaric acid, 147 mg of gelatin, 58.8 mg polyvinyl alcohol (75,000), 32.2 mg of aluminum dihydroxyaminoacetate (aluminum glycinate), 14 mg of disodium edetate, 14 mg of methyl parahydroxybenzoate, 7 mg of propyl parahydroxybenzoate, 1750 mg of non-woven fabric and 742 mg of plastic film (polyethylene terephthalate, PET).

Form of issue

The patch is white or bright yellow, is made of a polymer adhesive adhesive material, covered with a plastic film, has a weak characteristic odor. On the non-woven fabric there is an embossing "Lidocaine 5%".
Plaster Versatis for local use packed in sachets of 5 pcs. In a cardboard bundle there may be 1, 2, 6 sachets.

pharmachologic effect

It has a local anesthetic effect.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Versatis has a local anesthetic - lidocaine, which is an acetamide derivative that has membrane-stabilizing activity and the ability to block sodium channels in excitable neuronal membranes. With local use on skin that does not have damage, the expected therapeutic effect arises - removal of the pain syndrome, without systemic influence.

Data on pharmacokinetics

Approximately 3 ± 2% of lidocaine is adsorbed from the total amount contained in the patch. Achieving maximum blood concentrations of 0.13 μg / ml is possible with the addition of 3 patches for 12 hours. Binding to plasma proteins occurs on 50-80%.
Distribution fast (the half-life of the distribution phase lasts 6-9 minutes) begins with penetration into well-provided blood supply tissues, then into adipose and muscle tissue.
Lidocaine is able to penetrate the blood-brain and placental barriers, excreted together with breast milk (approximately 40% of the concentration in the blood plasma of a woman). Metabolism occurs in the liver by 90-95%, taking into account the action of microsomal enzymes before the formation of pharmacologically active metabolites. Excretion through the kidneys and with bile, and up to 10% is eliminated unchanged.
Peculiarities of pharmacokinetics in special groups of patients
    In individuals with liver disease, the metabolic rate decreases to 10-50% of the normal value.
    With chronic renal failure - the accumulation of metabolites, while acidification of urine causes an increase in the excretion of lidocaine.

Dosage

The patch is glued to intact, non-inflamed dry skin in the area of the onset of pain syndrome - 1 time per day for 12 hours maximum. It is possible to use no more than 3 patches simultaneously. Overdose

Receiving over doses of the drug Versatis is unlikely, but it is not completely excluded, because with improper use it is possible to achieve higher plasma concentrations, which differ from the established norms for the therapeutic effect. Possible manifestation of systemic toxicity similar to that after administration of lidocaine as a local anesthetic. It is accompanied by the following symptoms:
    anaphylaxis;
    convulsions;
    tremor;
    depression;
    euphoria;
