Composition

One tablet contains 10 mg of belladonna extract (Belladonnae Spissum) and 300 mg of sodium hydrogen carbonate.
As auxiliary substances used: cornstarch, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate.

Form of issue

Becarbon is available in tablets. In a cardboard bundle there can be 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 non-jammed packages of 6 tablets.

pharmachologic effect

Becarbon has antacid, spasmolytic and hypoxecretory action.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Spasmolytic, as well as hypoxecretory effects (decreased bile secretion, secretion of the pancreas, gastric, bronchial, sweat and salivary glands) are caused by m-holinoblokatorami from the belladonna extract or in another way - belladonna, while the antacid effect (neutralization of hydrochloric acid in the gastric juice) is due to the active substance of Becarbon - sodium Becarbonate.
In addition, it increases the excretion of sodium, chlorine, increases osmotic diuresis and shifts the reaction of bronchial mucus to the alkaline side, makes the phlegm on cough less viscous and stimulates expectoration.

Indications for use

Indications for use are spasms of the intestine and bile ducts, hyperacid gastritis, heartburn, indigestion (dyspepsia) and other functional disorders of the digestive tract (including pain of functional origin).

    dry mouth;
    intestinal atony;

Overdose

Symptoms of taking excessive doses of Becarbon are:
    psychomotor agitation;
    paresis of accommodation;
    convulsions;
    acute urinary retention.

Interaction

When using Becarbon:
    With Amantadine, tricyclic antidepressants, antiarrhythmic anticholinergic drugs, including Quinidine, Nefopam, Glutetimide - the anti-cholinergic effect of the tablets is increased.
    With opioid analgesics and drugs that depress the central nervous system (including phenothiazines), a dangerous inhibition of the central nervous system develops.
    With butyrofenones and haloperidol, as well as organic nitrates, an increase in intraocular pressure is possible.
    With corticosteroids (with systemic use), the action of corticosteroids decreases and the intraocular pressure may increase.
    Becarbon reduces the effects of pilocarpine in the treatment of glaucoma.
    Combination with m-holinoblokatorami causes an increase in anticholinergic effects.
    Use with Furosemide may cause orthostatic hypotension.
    Reserpine, MAO inhibitors, guanethidines, antacid agents, vitamin C, Attapulgite - reduce the effects of Becarbon.
    It is recommended to regulate the dosage of Levodopa, since it is possible to reduce its systemic concentrations.
    With some antihistamines, for example, with Meklisin, an increase in antihistamine action is observed.
    With blockers of β-adrenergic receptors, their effects can be reduced.
    With hormonal contraceptives - a decrease in contraceptive influence.
    With preparations that include nonselective inhibitors of reverse neuronal capture of monoamine mediators, an increase in the sedative effect of both drugs is observed.
    Such non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as Griseofulvin, Digitoxin, Doxycycline, Metoclopramide, Metronidazole in combination with Becarbon cause a decrease in the effects of these drugs.
    With sulfonamides - increases the risk of kidney damage.
    With Indapamide, Nizatidine - the potency of their effects.
    With ketoconazole, the pH of the gastric juice increases, the absorption of ketoconazole decreases, therefore it is recommended to take Bacarbon 2 hours after taking ketoconazole tablets.
    With potassium chloride, damage to the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract is possible.
    Effects of anticholinergics are antagonistic to the action of Domperidon on the activity of the gastrointestinal tract.
    Sodium Becarbonate as a component of Becarbon can increase the excretion of lithium, thereby reducing its concentration in the blood plasma.
