Composition and form of release

The drug Labilin is a solution for oral (inward) use in the form of drops. The main active ingredient of the drug is sodium picosulfate, its content in 1 ml of the solution is 7.5 mg. Also in the composition of the solution are auxiliary components, which include:
    Hydrochloric acid as a 1 M solution.
    Sorbitol.
    Methylparaben sodium.
    Purified water.
Slabilen solution is in bottles of 15 and 30 ml. The cardboard pack contains 1 bottle of solution and instructions for use.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Sodium picosulfate, which is the main active component of the drops of Slabilen, undergoes a hydrolysis reaction in the large intestine under the action of a normal bacterial microflora to form an active substance. It causes irritation of the nerve endings of the intestinal mucosa with an increase in the peristaltic movements of its walls, aimed at moving the contents to the anus. The therapeutic effect develops 10-12 hours after taking the drug.
After taking drops, Slabilen inside its components is practically not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream and is excreted with feces.

Indications for use

The main medical indication for the use of drops of Slabilen is a complex treatment of constipation caused by hypotension (decreased tone) or atony (lack of tonus) of the intestine with a practical lack of peristaltic movements. Also, the drug is used to relax and regulate the stool for various pathologies of the rectum, including its erosion, mucosal cracks, and hemorrhoids. Drops of Slabilen can be used during preparation before surgery on the structures of the lower parts of the digestive tract to cleanse their cavity.

Contraindications for use

There are several pathological and physiological conditions of the patient's body that are medical contraindications for the use of drops of Slabilen, these include:
The pronounced dehydration of the body is a condition accompanied by loss of fluid and salts.
Spastic constipation - a violation of the stool, which is associated with an increase in the tone of the intestinal wall and a violation of the promotion of its contents.
Pain in abdomen of unknown origin.
Inflammatory pathology of the small or large intestine (enteritis, enterocolitis, colitis), as well as peritoneal sheets (peritonitis).
    Intestinal obstruction.
Inflammation of the urinary bladder (cystitis).
    Uterine bleeding in women (metrorrhagia).
Gastrointestinal bleeding, developing from any part of the digestive tract.
Individual intolerance to any of the components of the drug.
Herniated walls of the abdominal wall or inguinal canal, complicated by infringement.
Pregnancy in the early stages of the course (1 trimester).
The child's age is less than 4 years.
With caution, the drug is used in pregnant women in the 2nd and 3rd trimester, as well as during breastfeeding (lactation period). Before the use of drops of Slabilen, it is important to make sure there are no contraindications.

Dosing and Administration

Drops Slabilen applied inside 1 time a day before going to bed, they are dissolved in a small amount of water. The average therapeutic dosage for adult patients is 20 drops, if necessary (persistent constipation), it can reach 30 drops. In children over the age of 4, the initial dosage is 5-8 drops, if necessary, it can be increased to 15 drops. The maximum daily dose of Slabilen solution should not exceed 30 drops for adults and 15 drops for children.

Side effects of Slabilen drops

Receiving drops Labilin can lead to the development of negative pathological reactions of the patient's body, which include:
    Severe diarrhea (diarrhea).
    Abdominal pain (abdominal pain).
Violation of the water-electrolyte balance of the patient's body, characterized by a change in the normal level of ions of mineral salts.
    Dehydration of the body (dehydration).
Reduction in the level of systemic arterial pressure (arterial hypotension), associated with a decrease in the volume of circulating blood.
    General weakness.
Periodic spasms of the striated skeletal musculature associated with changes in the level of ions of mineral salts.

special instructions

Before using the drops of Slabilen, you should carefully read the instructions. There are several specific indications regarding the use of the drug, which include:
It is not recommended to take the drug every day without medical supervision for a period of more than 10 days.
The use of the drug for children is possible only after the appropriate appointment of a doctor.
The active components of drops of Slabilen do not penetrate into breast milk, so the drug can be used for breast-feeding women, but only after the appointment of a doctor.
Use of the drug for pregnant women in the 2nd and 3rd trimester of pregnancy is possible only after the appointment of a doctor.
Since the components of the drug do not affect the taste, it can be added to food during application for children.
Against the background of the administration of drops of Slabilen, the therapeutic effect of the drugs of the pharmacological group may be enhanced by cardiac glycosides.
Simultaneous use of hormonal drugs glucocorticosteroids or diuretics (diuretics) leads to a significant increase in the likelihood of developing electrolyte disorders.
The intake of antibiotics can reduce the therapeutic effectiveness of drops of Slabilen.
The components of the drug do not have a direct effect on the functional activity of the brain, but in connection with the possible development of side effects against the background of its use, it is not recommended to perform work that is associated with the need for increased concentration of attention and sufficient speed of psychomotor reactions.
In the pharmacy chain, drops of Slabilen are dispensed without a doctor's prescription. If there is any doubt about their use, consult a healthcare professional.

Overdose

With a significant excess of the recommended therapeutic dose of drops of Labilin, severe diarrhea develops, leading to dehydration of the body and the loss of ions of mineral salts. In this case, under the conditions of a medical hospital, pathogenetic therapy is carried out aimed at restoring the level of fluid and ions of mineral salts in the body (intravenous infusion of physiological solution).
