Composition

A tablet of the drug contains the active substance (nifuratel) - 0.2 grams + auxiliary substances (talc, starch, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, gelatin, magnesium carbonate, gum arabic, wax, titanium dioxide, sucrose).

Form of issue

Convex white tablets in a shell of sugar. Packages of 20 pieces.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Is Macmiror an antibiotic or not?
Active substance from the group of nitrofurans. It shows antibacterial activity against gram-positive and -negative bacteria. It is also a good antifungal and antiprotozoal agent.
Oppresses the processes of division and reproduction of amoebas, lamblia and other protozoa, aerobic and anaerobic.
The drug is sensitive: Papiliobacter, Enterococcus faecalis, Helicobacter pylori, Enterococcus faecium, Escherichia coli, Trichomonas vaginalis, Atopobium vaginae, Bacillus subtilis, Shigella flexneri, various strains of Salmonella, Enterobacter sph., Citrobacter spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Rettgerella spp., Budvicia aquatic, Poliindustria chimica.
The drug has a property metabolized in the muscles and tissues of the liver, excreted with milk during breastfeeding, pass the hemoplacental barrier. About half of the nitrofurate passes through the excretory system (mainly the kidneys).

Indications for use

    diseases of the gastrointestinal tract caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori;
    lamblia and amoeba in the intestine;
    pyelonephritis, cystitis, etc., if the disease is caused by microorganisms sensitive to nitrofuran;
    vaginitis, vulvovaginitis.

According to instructions for the application of Macmiror:
Diseases of the gastrointestinal tract: Adults appoint 2-3 tablets 2-3 times a day, the course of treatment is from 7 to 10 days, depending on the disease.
For children, the daily dose is 15 mg per kg of body weight. It is divided into 2-3 receptions. Course - 7-10 days.
Urinary tract infections: The daily dosage for adults is 0.3-0.4 g per day, after a meal. The course of treatment is from 7 to 14 days. Children older than 6 years - 15 mg per 1 kg of body weight.
With vulvovaginitis and IPP, adults are prescribed 3 tablets per day, distributed for 3 divided doses. For complex treatment, a special cream for men and women is additionally prescribed.
For children older than 10 years, the daily dose is calculated from the principle of 0.01 grams per kg of body weight and is divided into 2 doses per day.

Overdose

At the moment there are no registered cases.

Interaction

Practically does not interact.
With the simultaneous administration of Macmiror and nystatin, the effectiveness of the latter increases.
