Composition

Tablets contain 500 mg of magnesium orotate (when recalculating the mass fraction of pure magnesium - 32.8 mg) and a number of auxiliary substances:
    Microcrystalline cellulose - 67.5 mg.
    Lactose monohydrate - 50 mg.
    Povidone K 30 (full pharmacological name - low molecular weight medical polyvinylpyrrolidone) - 30 mg.
    Cornstarch - 22.5 mg.
    Talcum ordinary - 18.75 mg.
    Sodium carmellose - 10 mg.
    Colloidal silicon dioxide is 2.5 mg.
    Magnesium stearate - 1.63 mg.
    Cyclamate sodium - 1.5 mg.

Form of issue

On the drugstore shelves the drug is presented in the form of white tablets and a round shape, on both sides of which there is a characteristic strip. Magnerot or Magne B6 is packed into contour-cell plates with 10 tablets each. In a cardboard box 2 or 5 container packages are placed.

Pharmacological action

Magnesium is a macronutrient that participates in all manifestations of cell life. So, without it, a complete metabolism is impossible, because it is an indispensable part of protein, energy, carbohydrate and mineral metabolism. Also, magnesium participates in the construction of chains of nucleic acids before replication.
Magnesium is a natural calcium antagonist (that is, the elements act in opposition to each other), it has a depressing effect on neuromuscular transmission, contributing to increased cardiomyocyte (cardiac cell) resistance to stress.
Since the drug contains orotic acid, the chemical bonds of magnesium and ATP in the cells are greatly enhanced, so the drug stimulates the growth of cells throughout the body. Due to more efficient delivery of energy to the cells, the processes of endogenous lipid metabolism are regulated.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The chemical feature of magnesium orotate is disseminated, that is, the drug is metabolized in different ways. The greatest amount is in the free, ionized state in the systemic blood stream and is excreted along with urine by the kidneys. About 30 percent of magnesium salts bind to blood plasma proteins, which prolongs the presence of the drug in the body. 10-15 percent accumulates in the form of salts in bone formations or intracellular spaces, where they are incorporated into compounds with DNA, RNA and ATP.
Orotic acid is metabolized more in the liver. With its help, uridine monophosphate is obtained, which is then part of the intermediate synthesis of pyrimidines. Thus, the biologically active component of the drug can be excreted in three ways:
    through the intestine;
    kidneys;
    sweat glands.
It should be noted that Magnerot is a very active drug. The main active substance relatively easily penetrates through the blood-brain and placental barrier. Magnesium orotate is also found in breast milk during lactation.

Indications for the use of Magnerot

Usually the drug is prescribed for chronic heart failure or arrhythmia, which is caused by a deficiency of salts or magnesium ions in the body. Also, Magnerot effectively confronts spastic conditions, progression of atherosclerosis, arteritis deficiency, angioedevrotic collapse. Magnesium salts correct dyslipidemia, reducing certain fractions of endogenous fats. As a means of prevention, Magnerot is prescribed in conservative therapy of coronary heart disease (angina pectoris, myocardial infarction).
Indications for the use of Magnerot can be expanded by the pathology of digestion, when magnesium of food is not digested in the gastrointestinal tract or conditions requiring large volumes of active substance. The latter include:
    chronic alcoholism;
    pregnancy;
    long-term hypodynamia;
    chronic stress;
    in complex therapy, in order to avoid the side effects of magnesium deficiency.

Contraindications

Magnerot is an active drug with a strong active ingredient, therefore in certain situations it is necessary to refuse from inclusion in the course of treatment. For example, it is not recommended to use it when:
    Disturbed urinary function of the kidneys.
    Cirrhosis of the liver, which is burdened with ascites (the extreme stage of pathology).
    Urolithiasis or genetic predisposition to the formation of stones in the urinary system.
    Atrioventricular blockade of I-II degree with pronounced bradycardia.
    Glucose-galactose malabsorption or galactosemia.
    Intolerance or hypersensitivity to the components of the formulation.
    Children under 18 years.

Side effects

Magnerot tablets are usually tolerated well, however, when self-administration of large doses alone, dyspepsia disorders of the gastrointestinal tract are possible - unstable stools, diarrhea. Complications are reduced by reducing the once-only dose of the drug.
Known clinical cases, when due to ingestion of medicinal magnesium, skin allergic reactions developed in the form of urticaria, characteristic exanthema, hyperemia and papular eruptions or skin itching. In this case, it is recommended that you contact the attending physician, so that the dosage of the course of conservative treatment is corrected properly.

Instructions for use of Magnerot (Method and dosage)

The drug is intended for oral use. In order to significantly increase the efficiency of the drug is recommended to take inside 1 hour before eating. Tablets should be washed down with plenty of drinking water. The duration of a conservative course of treatment is prescribed by the physician for each individual clinical case, but there is also a general scheme of admission. Initially, two tablets are used three times a day, during the first week, then the dosage is reduced to one tablet per one-time intake.
The maximum daily dose of magnesium orotate is 3000 mg (this amount of active ingredient is contained in six tablets).
In somnambulistic practice, magnesium preparations and in particular Magnerot are also used, the instructions for use in this case undergo several changes. Suffering nightly cramps are usually prescribed 2-3 tablets once a day, before bed.

Overdose

When using higher doses of the drug, magnesium intoxication is possible, but this pathological condition rarely develops with normal kidney function.
An acute excess of magnesium in the systemic circulation causes:
    Severe dyspeptic syndrome (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain).
    Violation of the patency of the biliary tract.
    Paralysis of the respiratory musculature.
    Disturbance of gastric and atrioventricular conduction.
To stop excess drug, you must enter large amounts of potassium (according to the principle of natural antagonism, the effects of magnesium intoxication will gradually come to naught) and carry out periotneal or extracorporeal dialysis. If necessary, the treatment of an overdose is supplemented by cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Interaction

Do not use Magnerot in combination with iron salts, sodium fluoride and tetracyclines, as their intestinal reabsorption decreases during the course of Magnerot.
When used simultaneously with sedatives, neuroleptics or tranquilizers (drugs that depress the central nervous system) potentiates their pharmacological effect on the body.
With the combined use of antihypertensive and antiarrhythmic drugs against the background of Magnerot, the severity of the therapeutic effect is significantly increased (hypotensive or bradycardic crises are possible).

Terms of sale

You can buy Magnerot without a medical prescription blank.

Storage conditions

The medicine should be stored in a dry place inaccessible to young children, at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius.
Shelf life - 5 years from the date of manufacture.

Magnerot in pregnancy and lactation

Objectively, indications for the use of Magnerot during pregnancy do exist, but an incorrect dosage of the drug can lead to so catastrophic consequences as miscarriage and miscarriage. Therefore, the use of a medicinal product is justified only if the potential benefit for a future mother is higher than the risk for the fetus.
It should be noted that reviews during pregnancy say that the drug is usually well tolerated, with no apparent complications (for more details, see "Reviews of Magnerot").

Reviews of Magnerot

Reviews about Magnerot on the forums indicate a positive therapeutic effect of the conservative course of this drug. It is often noted that the condition has improved, stressful situations do not cause such a strong increase in heart rate, neuromuscular transmission has improved, which affected the sports life of patients.
The drug and the medical part of the Internet audience are also satisfied with the drug, as its use significantly reduces the risk of developing coronary heart disease (cardiovascular disease is the first in terms of mortality in the therapeutic departments), which is confirmed by statistical data.
Also important are the reviews during pregnancy - usually Magnerot is tolerated well even at such a critical period in the life of a woman, but many emphasize that at the time of conservative treatment should always be under the supervision of qualified medical personnel.
