After two hours, a maximum - four to six hours after the reception marks the beginning of its action. The effect persists for one day. With regular treatment with the drug, the maximum indices of blood pressure decrease are observed after 2-4 weeks. If there was a sudden cessation of treatment, withdrawal syndrome is not observed.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

After the Valz drug was taken internally, its rapid absorption is noted, with the degree of absorption variable. The average bioavailability of the drug is 23%. The linear character of the pharmacokinetics of valsartan is noted.
The active ingredient has a high level of binding to blood proteins: this indicator is 94-97%. If valsartan is applied repeatedly, the kinetic parameters do not change. With a single dose of medication per day, an insignificant cumulation of valsartan is observed.
In the blood plasma there are small concentrations of inactive hydroxy metabolite.
After oral intake, 83% of the active substance exits the body through the intestines with bile, another 13% is basically unchanged through the kidneys.

Instructions for the use of tablets Valz (Method and dosage)

Before taking the Wales tablets, the instructions for using the drug should be necessarily studied in detail by the patient.
Instructions for use Valz 80 mg provides that this is the recommended dose of the drug. Patients with hypertension are initially shown taking 80 mg of the drug once a day.
The drug should be taken orally, regardless of the time of ingestion.
After the patient started taking the medicine, the hypotensive effect is manifested in the first 2 weeks of taking drugs. The greatest effect is observed four weeks after the initiation of therapy. If the tablets in a daily dose of 80 mg do not have the expected effect, then the daily dose of Valza is increased to 160 mg.
In the course of treatment, another antihypertensive drug, in particular, a diuretic, may be prescribed to the patient.
If the patient is diagnosed with chronic heart failure, he is initially assigned a double Valz dose of 40 mg. If the effect is insufficient, the dose gradually rises to 80 mg twice a day. If treatment is tolerated by a person well, the dose can be increased to 160 mg twice a day. From the start of therapy to the time when the transition to the maximum dose is carried out, it should take at least two weeks.
The largest dose of Valz per day is 320 mg, the dose is divided into two doses. With a simultaneous admission with diuretics dose can be reduced.
If a person underwent a myocardial infarction, and the hemodynamic parameters are stable, the therapy begins within twelve hours after an acute heart attack.
Admission begins with a dose of 20 mg twice a day, gradually it increases to 40 mg, then - 80 mg, and by the end of the third month of treatment, the dose is already 160 mg divided into two doses. Increasing the dose should take into account the tolerability of the drug.

Overdose

If an overdose occurs, a person may experience a marked decrease in blood pressure. In this state, loss of consciousness and collapse are possible.
It is necessary to immediately wash the stomach, after which activated charcoal is shown. In case of an overdose, 0.9% solution of sodium chloride is injected intravenously. During dialysis, valsartan is not excreted.

Interaction

Taking Valz 160 mg tablets and the drug in a different dosage, it should be taken into account that there is no pronounced interaction with other drugs.
However, if the patient is assigned to the pressure of the Valz tablet, while still taking other antihypertensive drugs and diuretics, the antihypertensive effect of valsartan may increase.
The risk of manifestation of hyperkalemia is noted with simultaneous reception of Valz tablets and potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium preparations, agents that increase the potassium content in blood plasma.
When taking with NSAIDs, the antihypertensive effect decreases.
There is information about toxic effects and a reversible increase in the concentration of lithium in blood plasma when treating Valz and ACE inhibitors.
There is not sufficient experience of using valsartan in conjunction with lithium-containing drugs. In this case, it is necessary to control the concentration in the blood plasma of lithium.
You can combine Valz and other drugs used to treat heart failure. Do not apply at one time Valz and ACE inhibitors + beta-blocker.
