Composition

The composition of the drug varies depending on the form of release of the drug.
In one suppository (suppository) Relief Advance, intended for rectal use, contains 206 mg of a medicinal compound such as benzocaine, as well as the following auxiliary compounds: propyl parahydroxybenzoate, shark oil, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, cocoa bean oil and corn starch.
As part of one gram of Relief Advance ointment, 200 mg of active compound is used externally or rectally, and additionally, auxiliary components such as sorbitan monostearate, shark liver oil, petroleum jelly, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, mineral oils, propylene glycol and propyl parahydroxybenzoate.

Form of issue

There are two main forms of this drug - suppositories and ointment.
Suppositories Relief Advance has a torpedo shape, and also differ in their white or yellowish color. Rectal suppositories are packaged in specialized packaging (blisters from PVC film). In one cardboard box contains, as a rule, two blisters with Suppositories of 6 pcs in each.
Ointment Relief Advance is packed in a tube with a nominal volume of 28.4 g. One carton pack contains one tube with cream, and also for ease of use - an applicator.

The drug belongs to the group of antihemorrhoidal drugs, which have pronounced wound healing, anti-inflammatory, and in addition, local anesthetic properties.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Since the drug contains a valuable shark oil containing alkoxy-glycerol and a number of fat-soluble vitamin compounds, the drug is very effective in treating hemorrhoids and has a healing, haemostatic, immunomodulating, and anti-inflammatory effect.
It should be noted that the active compound benzocaine, which is part of Relief Advance, belongs to the group of local anesthetics and therefore does not exert a resorptive effect on the body. The cocoa butter contained in the medicine has softening properties.

Indications for use

Relief Advance is indicated for use in the therapeutic treatment of hemorrhoids, as well as in the presence of anal pruritus and cracks in the tissues of the anus. In addition, this drug is used as an anesthetic for proctology operations or diagnostic manipulations.

Contraindications

It is not recommended to use this drug with hypersensitivity, as well as thromboembolism and granulocytopenia.

Side effects

If the product is used improperly, symptoms such as allergic reactions, itching, and hyperemia may occur.

Instructions for Relief Advance (Method and Dosage)

Both main forms of the drug should be used only after hygienic manipulations. Otherwise, the effectiveness of the drug is significantly reduced, and in some cases, the patient may become worse.
Suppositories Relief Advance according to the instructions should be used rectally (i.e., injected into the anus) for 1 piece a maximum of 4 times a day. To achieve the best therapeutic effect, it is recommended to use the suppository in the morning, before going to bed, and after each act of bowel movement (emptying).
The above-mentioned rules for the use of medication are suitable for both adults and children over 12 years of age. Use the drug during the therapeutic treatment of patients under the age of 12 is only after consulting a doctor.
Ointment Relief Advance according to the instructions can be used both externally and rectally. Before using the drug, you should attach the applicator to the tube with the cream and squeeze out some of the medicine for lubrication. Ointment should be applied no more than 4 times a day, preferably in the morning, before bed and after each act of defecation.
It should be remembered that after each application of the cream, it is necessary to thoroughly wash the applicator and place it in a protective cap specially designed for this purpose. Ointment, as well as suppositories can be used in the treatment of children under the age of 12 only with the permission of a pediatrician.

Overdose

If the recommendations for dosage are not observed, patients may experience symptoms of benzocaine systemic absorption, i.e. convulsions, drowsiness, increased excitability, as well as methemoglobinemia, which is characterized by the presence of cyanosis and respiratory failure. When an overdose of shark oil, which is part of the drug, may show increased blood coagulability.
