Form of issue and composition
The medicine is produced in the form of a greenish-yellow ointment, which when stored forms a liquefied upper layer.
The main component of Dioxidine is hydroxymethyl-quinoxylindioxide in an amount of 5.0 g in 100 g of ointment.
As auxiliary substances, macrogol-400, macrogol-1500, distilled monoglycerides, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, methyl parahydroxybenzoate are used.
pharmachologic effect
Dioxidine shows a strong bactericidal effect due to inhibition of the formation of nucleic acids contained in bacterial cells.
After external use, the active ingredient in a small amount enters the blood. The medicine does not accumulate in the body and is excreted in the urine.
Indications for use
The ointment is intended for local and external use in the following cases:
Pustular skin diseases;
Wounds that have deep purulent cavities (purulent mastitis, wounds of the biliary and urinary tract after operations, phlegmon of the pelvic fat, abscesses of the soft tissues, abscess of the lungs);
Burn and wound infection (purulent wounds in osteomyelitis, infected burns, phlegmons of soft tissues that do not heal trophic ulcers and wounds for a long time, deep and superficial purulent wounds of different localization).
Dosing regimen
Ointment should be applied to the affected skin, while necessarily capturing a healthy tissue. The highest single dose is 2.5 g. In a day, the procedure can be carried out 2-3 times. The duration of therapy is usually 3 weeks.
Pregnancy and lactemia
Dioxidine Ointment is not allowed to mend during a period when a woman is pregnant and during breastfeeding.
