Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Locally applied salicylic acid acts as an antiseptic and exhibits bacteriostatic, keratolytic and some fungicidal activity.

Instructions for use Diprosalic (Method and dosage)

Ointment Diprosalic, instructions for use

Ointment Diprosalic is intended for external use. Treatment consists in applying a thin layer of ointment with full coverage of problem areas of the skin. Most often the therapeutic course requires a two-time use of the drug per day (morning and evening), although some patients can achieve a supporting effect and less frequent applications.
In the children's age category 2-12 years old, you can practice local application of a thin layer of ointment to small affected areas of the skin. The course of such treatment should be limited to 7 days with the use of the drug once, maximum twice in 24 hours.

Overdose

Prolonged local administration of large doses of glucocorticoids may lead to suppression of the functionality of the pituitary-adrenal system, which may cause secondary adrenal insufficiency and hypercorticoid phenomena, including Cushing's syndrome. With prolonged local application of high dosages of salicylic acid, salicylate intoxication may occur.
To treat overdose with active ingredients Diprosalika symptomatic therapy. If necessary, correct the electrolyte imbalance. With chronic intoxication recommend the gradual elimination of glucocorticoids. To remove salicylates urine is alkalinized (for example, taken by sodium bicarbonate orally) and an intensive diuresis is prescribed.

Interaction

Interactions of Diprosalic with other therapeutic agents were not revealed.

Storage conditions

The ambient temperature of storage of both drugs should be limited to 25 ° C.
Shelf life - 2 years.

special instructions

In the case of development against the background of Diprosalic hypersensitivity or irritation, the treatment is stopped.
Attachment of infection requires the appointment of appropriate therapy.
Systemic absorption of active ingredients Diprosalic will be higher when applying ointment to the occlusive dressing, as well as when treating large body surfaces.
Even topical application of glucocorticoids, especially in children, can lead to the formation of systemic side effects inherent in this group of drugs, including suppression of the functionality of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system.
With prolonged use of Diprosalic, the ongoing therapy should be gradually phased out.
The drug Diprosalic is not intended for use in ophthalmology (do not allow drugs to come into the eyes).
The lotion of the drug should not be applied under the closing bandages.

Children

Diprosalic is admitted to prescription in pediatrics only from the age of 2 years.
It should be remembered that children of children who undergo local glucocorticoid therapy are more prone to the risk of oppression of the functionality of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system due to a greater ratio of their weight to the body surface, which leads to increased absorption of the active ingredients of the drug.
Also, when using local glucocorticoids in pediatrics, such negative side effects of therapy as: growth retardation, Cushing's syndrome, insufficient weight gain, increased intracranial pressure are more often mentioned.
The suppressed functionality of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system is determined in children with low plasma levels of cortisol and lack of response to stimulation of lutropin. High intracranial pressure is expressed by headaches, protrusion of the fontanel, bilateral edema of the optic disc.

In pregnancy and lactation

Pregnant women can be prescribed Diprosalic only in extreme cases, for a short time and in minimal doses.
Lactating women to use this drug is contraindicated.

Reviews about Diprosalic

Reviews about the lotion Diprosalic, as well as reviews about the ointment of this remedy in the question of effectiveness when used according to the indications do not cause doubts in their effectiveness. This drug really does quite quickly cope with external cutaneous manifestations of diseases sensitive to its active ingredients, is consumed very sparingly and in most cases does not cause any side effects during the therapy.
A completely different picture of the negative effects of the drug is monitored when it is withdrawn. In this case, quite often one can find references to the rapid return of all external manifestations of the disease and even their aggravation. It should be noted that Diprosalic is a hormonal drug, the cancellation of which requires a long time with a gradual decrease in doses. It should also be remembered that often the diseases in which this drug is prescribed need complex treatment with concurrent use of oral or injectable drugs.
