Antibiotic group of lincosamides. In therapeutic doses, it acts bacteriostatic. At higher concentrations has a bactericidal effect. Suppresses protein synthesis in the microbial cell.
Active mainly against aerobic gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp. (including penicillinase producing strains), Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus pneumoniae / with the exception of Enterococcus faecalis /), Corynebacterium diphtheriae; anaerobic bacteria Clostridium spp., Bacteroides spp.
Lincomycin ointment is also active against Mycoplasma spp.
Most gram-negative bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa are resistant to lincomycin ointment. Stability is developed slowly.
There is cross-resistance between lincomycin and clindamycin.

Pharmacokinetics

After ingestion, 30-40% is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Eating slows down the speed and extent of absorption. Lincomycin ointment is widely distributed in tissues (including bone) and body fluids. It penetrates the placental barrier. Partially metabolized in the liver. T1 / 2 is about 5 hours. It is displayed in unchanged form and in the form of metabolites with urine, bile and feces.

Indications for Lincomycin ointment

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the severe course caused by microorganisms sensitive to lincomycin ointment, including sepsis, osteomyelitis, septic endocarditis, pneumonia, lung abscess, pleural empyema, wound infection. As an antibiotic reserve for infections caused by staphylococcal strains and other gram-positive microorganisms resistant to penicillin and other antibiotics.
For external use: purulent-inflammatory diseases of the skin.

Contraindications

Severe abnormal liver and / or kidney function, pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity to lincomycin and clindamycin.

Dosage

When administered to adults - 500 mg 3-4 times / day or i / m - 600 mg 1-2 times / day. In / drip injected 600 mg in 250 ml of isotonic sodium chloride or glucose 2-3 times / day.

Side effects of Lincomycin ointment

Pharmaceutically incompatible with ampicillin, barbiturates, theophylline, calcium gluconate, heparin and magnesium sulfate.
Lincomycin ointment is incompatible in the same syringe or dropper with kanamycin or novobiocin.
