Characteristic

Sage leaves contain essential oils, tannins, resins, flavonoids, organic acids, vitamin P, phytoncides and other biologically active substances.

Description

A mixture of leaf particles with a small number of stalk particles, medicinal green sage flowers, grayish-green, silver-green or silvery-gray with whitish, yellowish and brownish impurities passing through a 2 mm sieve. The scent is fragrant. The taste of the water extract is slightly bitter-spicy, slightly astringent.

Pharmacodynamics

The infusion of sage leaves has an antimicrobial, local anti-inflammatory and astringent effect.

Indications

Inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity (stomatitis, gingivitis), pharynx and larynx (sore throat, pharyngitis).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug; children under 12 years.

Dosing and Administration for Sage leaves

3 filter bags (4.5 g) are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist for 15 minutes. Filter packs are squeezed, the volume of the obtained infusion is brought to boiling water to 100 ml.
Apply topically to rinse 1 / 2-1 glass infusion 3-5 times a day in a warm form. The course of treatment 2-4 weeks.
Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
