Release form and composition

Sodium diclofenac is the main component due to which the therapeutic effect is possible. Its content is 2% for every 100 grams of ointment. There are auxiliary elements. Ortofen ointment is placed in aluminum tubes in a volume of 30 grams. Each tube is located in a secondary carton with 1 official manufacturer's instructions.

Indications for use

It is used in case of joint diseases of the degenerative or inflammatory type, in case of traumatic lesions in the form of stretching, bruises, edema; with rheumatism of soft tissues, as well as with edema and painful sensations that are associated with physical loads.

Contraindications for Ortofen ointment

It is forbidden to administer Ortofen ointment to people who are hypersensitive to any element indicated by official instructions in the composition, as well as to NSAID - group; with erosive or ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract - organs, rhinitis, allergic asthma, urticaria and in pediatrics up to 6 years.

Dosing and Administration

The course should be selected only by the doctor watching the patient. Its duration can vary from 1 day to 2 weeks. On a part of the body with painful sensations, it is recommended to apply from 2 to 4 grams of ointment with a thin layer. This application is allowed to repeat up to 4 times per 24 hours. However, keep in mind that the maximum allowed daily dosage is 8 grams.

    NSAIDs - group: increased adverse symptoms;
    hypoglycemic drugs: the probability of hypo / hyperglycemia;
    acetylsalicylic acid: a decrease in blood levels of indicators of diclofenac;
    warfarin: risk of bleeding;
    phenytoin, lithium, digoxin: an increase in their concentration in the blood;
    Colestipol, Kolestiramine: reduction of the absorption of diclofenac from the digestive tract;
    methotrexate: an increase in toxic effects and blood levels;
    morphine: increasing its adverse symptoms (including depression of respiratory function);
    pentazocin: risk of convulsive seizure;
    ceftriaxone: an increase in its excretion with bile;
    rifampicin: a decrease in blood levels of diclofenac;
    cyclosporine: enhancing its nephrotoxicity.
