Description

Cream from white to white with a yellowish or creamy shade of color.
Existence of weak specific smell is allowed.

Pharmacodynamics

Antibiotic group of lincosamides for vaginal use. The mechanism of drug action is associated with impaired intracellular protein synthesis in a microbial cell at the level of the 50S subunit of ribosomes.
Clindamycin has a wide spectrum of action, has a bacteriostatic effect, in higher concentrations against some microorganisms - bactericidal. Active against microorganisms that cause bacterial vaginosis: Gardnerella vaginalis, Mobiluncus spp., Bacteroides spp., Mycoplasma hominis, Peptostreptococcus spp. Trichomonas vaginalis and Candida albicans are not sensitive to clindamycin.

Pharmacokinetics

After a single intravaginal injection of 100 mg of clindamycin, an average of 4% of the administered dose undergoes systemic absorption. The maximum plasma concentration of clindamycin is 20 ng / ml.

Indications for use

Bacterial vaginosis caused by microorganisms sensitive to Clindacin cream.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to clindamycin or lincomycin.

Carefully

Clinical studies on the use of clindamycin in women in the first trimester of pregnancy has not been conducted, so the use of Clindacin cream is possible only in the case when the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the risk to the fetus.
Application in the II and III trimesters of pregnancy is possible, since no adverse effect on the fetus has been detected.
It is not known whether
clindamycin with mother's milk with intravaginal use, so you should compare the benefits of the use of Clindacin cream during breastfeeding and the possible risk to the infant.

Dosage and administration

Introduced intravaginally with an applicator.
The recommended single dose is 100 mg of clindamycin (one full applicator), preferably at bedtime for 3-7 days.

Instructions on how to use the applicator

Disposable applicators attached to the package are intended for the precise dosing and injection of Clindacin cream into the vagina.
1. Open the cream tube by removing the cap. Pierce the membrane of the tube with the reverse side of the cap. Screw the plastic applicator onto the threaded neck of the tube.
2. Gently pressing on the tube from the opposite end, gently squeeze the cream into the applicator. The applicator piston moves independently as the required volume is filled. The applicator is full when the piston reaches the stop. Unscrew the applicator and close the tube with the cap.
3. In the supine position, tighten your knees to your chest. Holding the applicator horizontally, gently push it into the vagina as deeply as possible, trying not to cause unpleasant sensations.

Side effect

Overdose

Interaction

Antagonistic interaction has been observed between clindamycin and erythromycin.
There is cross-resistance between clindamycin and lincomycin.

Special instructions for Clindacin cream

With prolonged use of Clindacin cream, excessive growth of microorganisms that are insensitive to it is possible, especially of the fungi Candida.
Given the possibility of minimal systemic absorption of the drug (approximately 4%), we cannot exclude the occurrence of diarrhea during the use of Clindacin cream. In this case, the drug should be canceled.
It is not recommended to apply along with other intravaginal means.
The efficacy and safety of clindamycin for intravaginal use in children has not been established.
