The drug Dostinex belongs to the group of inhibitors of the production of the hormone prolactin.
Form release and composition of the medicine
The drug Dostinex is available in the form of tablets for oral administration. Tablets are white, oblong with engravings on both sides. The drug is sold in bottles of brown glass of 2 or 8 pieces in a cardboard box with detailed instructions. One Dostinex tablet contains 500 μg of the main active ingredient, cabergoline. Auxiliary substances of the drug are anhydrous lactose and leucine.
Pharmacological properties of the drug
The drug Dostinex is an agonist of dopamine receptors. Under the influence of the drug decreases the production of the hormone prolactin and a decrease in its concentration in the blood plasma.

Treatment of pathological conditions in a woman due to increased production of the hormone prolactin by the pituitary gland - amenorrhea, oligomenorrhoea, anovulation, galactorrhea, not associated with breastfeeding;
Adenoma of the pituitary gland, which affects the site responsible for the production of prolactin, hyperprolactinaemia.
Contraindications
The drug Dostinex can be used only as directed by a doctor. Before starting therapy, the patient should carefully read the attached instructions, since the tablets have a number of the following contraindications:
Age to 16 years;
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
With special care, the drug is prescribed to patients with the following conditions:
Arterial hypertension;
Pregnancy;
Raynaud's disease;
Severe dysfunction of the heart;
Liver failure;
Peptic ulcer, exacerbation of chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
Mental illness in the anamnesis;
Disturbance of respiratory function.

Dosing and Administration
