Mastodynon - a hormonal drug or not?
Mastodynon is a homeopathic remedy, the main active substance of which is a sacred vitex - a plant characterized by hormone-like activity. Its dopaminergic effects provoke a decrease in prolactin and, thus, eliminate the main cause of PMS - hyperprolactinemia.
What is better - drops or Mastodynon tablets?
The drug has two dosage forms exclusively for the convenience of consumers. Tablets should be administered to people who, for one reason or another, should avoid using ethanol.
Drops are preferable for people who have lactose intolerance.
Analogues of Mastodynon
Analogues of Mastodynon on the mechanism of action: Galavit, gynacoheel, klimadynon, Remens.
How can I replace Mastodynon? This issue often occurs in women with increased sensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as those who for some reason want to save a little (Mastodynon can not be classified as inexpensive drugs), but only the attending physician can answer it.
The choice of an analogue depends on the indications and characteristics of the disease.
Compatibility with alcohol
Scientists who study the issues associated with mastopathy, it was found that alcohol has a negative effect on women's breasts: any alcoholic drinks in the case of their regular use significantly increase the risk of developing mastopathy and subsequently cancer.
The way in which alcohol affects the breast is not exactly known. However, most specialists tend to believe that after drinking alcohol in the female body, the concentration of female sex hormones sharply increases, which have a negative impact on breast health.
Therefore, the refusal of alcohol is an important point not only in the treatment, but also in the prevention of fibrocystic disease.
In pregnancy
Do not use Mastodynon during pregnancy. Application in the period of breastfeeding can trigger a decrease in lactation.
Reviews about Mastodynon
Reviews about Mastodynon left a lot. And most of them are positive, as judged by a rather high score of the funds on specialized sites, where people share their impressions about certain drugs (Mastodynon is recommended as an effective tool by about 88% of consumers).
The main advantages that consumers mention on the forums are the naturalness and high effectiveness of the medication (although the effect does not appear immediately, subjective feelings of improvement are noted not earlier than a few weeks after the start of therapy), as well as the absence of hormonal components in its composition.
In the reviews about Mastodynon drops, almost all women notice their unpleasant smell and bitter taste.
With regard to reviews of Mastodynon tablets, the drug in this dosage form, according to the patients, the only drawback is that they need to be taken for a long time (as, indeed, drops). However, if necessary, use the product outside the home, tablets for most of them are much more convenient than drops.
Nevertheless, there are also negative reviews. In most cases, they are associated with side effects, which were noted against the background of the use of tablets or drops.
The composition of the medicine includes as many as 6 plant components, therefore, with individual intolerance of at least one of them, the possibility of itching rashes on the skin is not ruled out, and in especially serious cases - urticaria passing into the Quincke's edema.
With excessive suppression of the formation of prolactin, the process of development of the sebaceous glands is also disrupted and, as a consequence, an acne appears. By increasing the production of estrogens, weight gain can also occur with the appearance of fat deposits in the region of the hips and abdomen (according to the female type).
As for the opinions of specialists, then, analyzing them, one can come to the conclusion that Mastodynon is not an etiotropic, but a complex homeopathic remedy. This means that pills and drops do a good job of eliminating the manifestations of the disease, but at the same time they practically do not influence the cause of its development.
Since the action of the drug is aimed at reducing prolactin, before its appointment it is necessary to pass tests on the content of the hormone in the body. During the course of treatment it is recommended to periodically take appropriate tests, which will allow to control the process of reduction.
When the normal indices are reached, it is necessary to contact the attending physician for further recommendations and monitoring the condition of the breast tissue.
