Hemostatic drug, blocker of fibrinolysis.
The chemical formula is H2N (CH2) 5COOH.
It blocks the effects of plasminogen activators, inhibits the action of plasmin, and does not completely inhibit kinins. Has antiallergic activity and slightly strengthens the antitoxic function of the liver.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration, it is actively absorbed from the digestive tract. The greatest concentration in the blood is achieved after two hours. Quickly excreted in the urine, mostly in unchanged form. The elimination half-life is approximately 2 hours.

Indications for use

The use of the drug is justified with the following conditions and situations:
    prevention of bleeding with interventions on the liver, pancreas, lungs;
    prevention and treatment of menorrhagia and bleeding from the internal organs, mucous membranes, erosions of the stomach and intestines, as well as with menstruation;
    Hyperfibrinolysis of various genesis, including associated with the use of thrombolytic drugs and transfusion of canned blood products in large volumes;
    treatment and prevention of influenza and ARVI;
    for symptomatic treatment of bleeding caused by thrombocytopenia and inferiority of platelet function.

Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
    Hematuria.

The solution is administered intravenously, drip. To achieve a quick action (for example, with acute hypofibrinogenemia), assign up to 100 ml of a 5% solution of 50-60 drops per minute for 20-30 minutes. In the first hour, add 4-5 grams of the drug (about 100 ml), and then, if necessary, 1 gram (about 20 ml) per hour for another 8 hours or until the final bleeding stops. If the bleeding continues or there is a repeat bleeding, then the drug is repeated every 4 hours.
In pediatric patients, the drug is administered at a rate of 100 mg per kilogram of body weight per hour, and then at a rate of 33 mg per kilogram of body weight per hour; the largest daily dose is 18 grams per square meter of body surface area.
Daily dose:
    for adults is 5-30 g;
    for children less than 1 year is 3 grams;
    for children 2-6 years is 3-6 grams;
    for children 7-10 years is equal to 6-9 grams;
    For children from 11 years old, adult doses are used.
For acute blood loss, the following dosages are used:
    Children under 12 months of age are given 6 grams of the drug;
    children 1-4 years of age, 6-9 grams of the drug;
    children of 5-8 years are injected 9-12 grams of the drug;
    Children of 9-10 years are injected 18 grams of the drug.
The duration of treatment varies between 3-14 days.

Aminocaproic acid, instruction on the use of powder

Having dissolved the powder in water, it is taken orally after or during a meal. The daily dose for adult patients is divided into 3-6 receptions, and for patients of children's age - for 3-5 receptions.
With an average degree of increase in fibrinolytic activity, the drug is usually prescribed in a daily dose of 5-23 grams. Children under the age of 1 year are prescribed a one-time dose of 0.05 grams per kilogram of weight (but not more than 1 gram). Daily dosage for children: up to 1 year is 3 grams, 1-7 years - 3-6 grams, 7-11 years - 6-9 grams. For adolescents (over 11 years), the highest daily dose is 10-15 grams.
In the treatment of acute bleeding, first prescribe 5 grams of the drug, and then 1 gram once a hour (not more than 8 hours) until the final stop of bleeding. The daily dosage for children of children with acute blood loss: up to 1 year is 6 grams, 1-5 years - 6-9 grams, 5-9 years - 9-12 grams, 10-11 years - 18 grams.
In the treatment of subarachnoid hemorrhages, 6-9 g of the drug are prescribed.
In the treatment of traumatic hyphema, the drug is recommended at a dose of 0.1 grams per kilogram of body weight every four hours (up to 24 grams per day in total) for 5 days.
With uterine bleeding (metrorrhagia) associated with intrauterine contraceptives, and with monthly appoint 3 grams of medication every 6 hours.

    patients older than 10 years are prescribed 1-2 grams up to 5 times a day.

Aminocaproic acid in the nose

It is also recommended to use the drug Aminocaproic acid in the nose (child or adult), locally. When laying for 10 minutes in the nasal passage of cotton turundum every 3 hours, pre-moistened with a solution of 5% aminocaproic acid, or observing the specified multiplicity, instill 4-5 drops of solution into the nasal passages. The drug can be used for inhalations for children and adults. In such cases, a nebulizer may be used for inhalations to the child.
In case of severe hypertoxic types of influenza or acute respiratory viral infection, the dosage of the drug is allowed to be raised to the maximum recommended at this age with a moderate increase in fibrinolytic activity.
Aminocaproic acid, if necessary, can be used in combination with other antiviral drugs, interferon-containing agents and interferon inducers.

Overdose

Signs of an overdose: increased undesirable effects, the appearance of blood clots. With prolonged use (over 6 days) of large doses (from 24 grams per day for adults), the development of hemorrhages is not ruled out.

Interaction

The drug is able to combine with the use of solutions of glucose, hydrolysates, antishock solutions.
