pharmachologic effect

Dimephosphon is an anti-acidic drug that improves SCR (acid-base state) with acidosis.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

In addition to the normalization of KHS with acidosis, this drug helps to enhance the reabsorption of bicarbonates, ventilation of the lungs, as well as the processes of acid and ammoniogenesis in the kidneys.
The drug has membrane-stabilizing, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It improves blood flow and metabolism in the brain tissues, promotes regulation of blood circulation, reduces cardiac and pulmonary insufficiency, strengthens the protective functions of the skin and mucous membranes.
The main anti-acid effect of the drug is due to the intensification of the pulmonary and renal mechanisms of regulation of the KHS. In addition, the effect is increased blood flow and tissue metabolism, as well as a decrease in the level of pyruvic and lactic acid in the brain tissues.
The drug helps to stabilize cell membranes, improves brain activity and helps normalize sleep. It also restores the reactivity of the brain vessels and reflexes, the arcs of which are closed through the stem divisions, reduces the severity of pyramidal, vestibular, auditory, cerebellar and visual disorders.
Antioxidant effect due to the fact that Dimephosphon prevents the activation of lipid peroxidation, as well as increases the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the brain tissues.
It also promotes the activation of energy processes by influencing mitochondria and stimulating the pituitary-thyroid system. Thus, tissues consume more thyroid hormones, and energy and catabolic processes in the mitochondria become more active.
It can be used for cerebrovascular insufficiency in various forms, as it improves microcirculation and increases the resistance of nerve cells to ischemia.
After one use, the drug easily penetrates through the histohematological barriers. The maximum concentration is achieved in 1 hour. The active substance is distributed to many organs and tissues.
The drug is excreted mainly with urine in an unchanged form.
