The drug Inhalypt is a drug for topical use with a pronounced antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. The drug is widely used for inflammatory diseases of the oropharynx and upper respiratory tract.
Form of formulation and composition of the preparation
The preparation Inhalypt is available in the form of a spray and aerosol in an aluminum 30 ml bottle with the attached nebulizer and detailed instructions in a cardboard pack.
The composition of the medicinal product includes the following components:
Timol - a natural component, has a pronounced antiseptic property and is used to treat inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
Peppermint oil - this component is obtained by squeezing fresh or dried leaves of the plant. The extract has spasmolytic, analgesic and distracting properties, eliminates dry cough and soothes the irritated mucous membrane of the oropharynx;
Glycerol - has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, softens the inflamed and irritated mucous membrane, removes tissue swelling. Under the influence of this component, the tonsils are cleaned of purulent plugs;
Essential oil of eucalyptus is a component that suppresses attacks of dry cough. Softens the mucous membrane, kills germs, relieves swelling and pain in the throat, heals microcracks and reduces signs of inflammation;
Streptocide is the main active ingredient Inhalypt. Has a pronounced antimicrobial effect, relieves inflammation and swelling of the mucous membranes, serves as a preventive measure for the development of suppurative exacerbations.
As auxiliary components are: ethyl alcohol, purified water, sugar.
Pharmacological properties of the drug
Inhalypt is widely used for local treatment of inflammatory diseases of the pharynx and upper respiratory tract as part of complex therapy. When the aerosol hits the mucous membranes, the patient notes a significant relief of painful sensations. Under the influence of the drug, edema is removed, an attack of dry painful cough is suppressed, microbes that provoke the inflammatory process are destroyed.

The preparation Inhalypt in the form of a spray or an aerosol is prescribed to patients for the treatment of the following diseases:
Chronic tonsillitis during exacerbation;
Acute respiratory viral infections, accompanied by a dry cough, a sore throat, reddening of the pharyngeal mucosa;
Inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract in the complex therapy - laryngitis, bronchitis, tracheitis, laryngotracheitis, adenoiditis.
The drug is sometimes prescribed as a prophylactic for tonsillectomy and interventions on the oropharyngeal organs.
Before starting therapy with Inhalypt, the patient should read the attached instructions in detail. Spray and aerosol have the following contraindications for use:
Individual intolerance to the components of the drug;
Bronchial asthma and a tendency to bronchospasm of an allergic nature;

Allergic reactions in the anamnesis to one of the constituent components of the drug;

Dosing and Administration
Inhalipt spray or aerosol is used to irrigate the mucous membranes of the oropharynx. Patients of adult age and children from 12 years of age are prescribed 1-2 sprayings of the drug into the inflammation focus 3-4 times a day. The duration of the course of therapy with the drug is 5-7 days, if during this period the patient does not experience any improvement, you should consult a doctor with the purpose of clarifying the diagnosis and the adequacy of the prescribed treatment.
Before using the aerosol, the can should be shaken well, put on a special spray and make irrigation of the mucous membranes. When spraying the drug, breathe with your nose, not with your mouth, to prevent the inhalation of the drug and the development of bronchospasm.
After using the aerosol, the nebulizer must be removed and rinsed thoroughly under running water.
Use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Studies on the safety of the effects of the drug on the fetus during pregnancy have not been conducted. The drug Inhalypt is not recommended for treatment of women who are preparing to become a mother. Since the composition of the drug includes ethyl alcohol, the use of Inhalypt in the period of bearing a child by a woman can lead to negative consequences from the nervous system of the fetus.
It is not known whether the drug penetrates into breast milk, and how it can affect the baby's body, so the use of the spray during breastfeeding is not desirable. If a woman needs treatment, a woman should think about stopping lactation so as not to harm the baby.
As a rule, Inhalypt is well tolerated by patients, but in some cases, against the background of its use, it is possible to develop the following side effects:
Burning and itching in the throat after getting the medicine on the mucous membranes;
Development of bronchospasm;
Reducing the sensitivity of the mucous membranes (this effect is due to the influence of essential oils that make up the drug and does not require withdrawal of treatment with the drug);
Hives on the skin;
Allergic skin rashes.
The cases of Inhalypt drug overdose have not been described in medicine, however, in order to prevent the development of the above-described side effects, it is not recommended to exceed the dose specified in the instructions or to use the medication for more than 7 days.
Interaction of the drug with other drugs
Spray or Inhalypt spray improves the therapeutic effect of antiviral drugs and antibiotics.
It is not recommended to use several local antiseptics, which include ethyl alcohol, as this can lead to burns of the mucous membrane or the development of side effects.
After irrigation of the glottis of the oropharynx, the patient should refrain from taking drugs and consuming liquids or other medicines for 30-40 minutes, otherwise the therapeutic effect of the agent is significantly reduced.
Absorption of the drug into the common bloodstream is not significant, however, since Inhalypt contains ethyl alcohol, during aerosol therapy, one should refrain from driving the car and controlling complex mechanisms requiring increased concentration of attention.
This drug can not be used to treat children younger than 12 years due to the content of ethyl alcohol in the medicine.
Patients with diabetes should be very cautious with the use of Inhalypt, as the drug includes sugar.
