Indications for use

Novigan tablets are Prescribed when:
    moderately or mildly expressed pain syndrome, observed when smooth muscles of internal organs are subjected to spasms - intestinal, biliary and renal colic, as well as in case of dyskinesia of bile ducts;
    dysmenorrhea;
    headache, including having a migraine nature;
    symptomatic short-term treatment for neuralgia, myalgia, ischialgia and joint pain.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Novigan is a combined preparation that has antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. The drug suppresses the synthesis of prostaglandin. The drug contains ibuprofen, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, fenpiverinia bromide is an m-cholinoblocking agent with peripheral and central effects, as well as a myotropic antispasmodic agent of the hydrochloride of the pitofenone.
Pitophenone hydrochloride causes relaxation of the musculature of the internal organs, exerting a direct myotropic effect on it.
Ibuprofen (derived from phenylpropionic acid) has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. The main effect of the substance is to inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are modulators of thermoregulation, pain sensitivity and inflammation in peripheral tissues and the central nervous system. In women suffering from primary dysmenorrhea, the level of prostaglandins in myometrium decreases, thereby reducing the heart rate and intrauterine pressure.
Fenpiverinia bromide exerts an additional relaxing effect on the smooth muscles due to its anticholinergic action.
Combined, these three main components mutually reinforce each other's pharmacological action.
The components that make up Novigan are perfectly absorbed into the digestive tract. After taking, approximately 1-2 hours later, the peak concentration of the drug is reached in the blood plasma. Ibuprofen, the main component of this drug, almost completely (by 99%) binds to blood plasma proteins, and its accumulation in synovial fluid can also occur. This component is metabolized in the liver and 90% is excreted along with urine in the form of conjugates and metabolites. An insignificant part of Noghvrana, along with bile, is escaped. Half-life from the blood plasma - 2 hours.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in:

Instructions for use Novigan (Method and dosage)

Please reed this instruction before buy Novigan.
The drug is taken orally an hour before meals or after eating three hours later. To avoid the negative irritant effect of the drug on the stomach, you can take Novigan immediately after eating or you can take the tablets with milk.
In the absence of any prescription of the doctor for admission, with Novigan spasmodic pain, it is recommended to take three times a day for one tablet. The maximum dose of the drug per day - three tablets Novigan.
Instructions for use also warns that without a doctor's consultation, the course of taking tablets should not last more than five days. If you need to use the drug for a longer time, it is done only under the supervision of a doctor and strict control of indicators of the functional state of the liver and peripheral blood.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose include: lethargy, nausea, abdominal pain, drowsiness, vomiting, depression, metabolic acidosis, tinnitus, decrease in blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, headache, acute renal failure, respiratory failure and coma.
As the treatment is used: alkaline drink, gastric lavage (maximum - after 3 hours), forced diuresis, and also assigned activated charcoal or symptomatic therapy is applied (blood pressure, acid-base state is corrected). However, there is no specific antidote to the drug that could be used in case of an overdose.
If the recommended dosage is exceeded, the doctor should be consulted without delay. At itself it is necessary to have a package of a preparation.

Interaction

When taking Novigan in therapeutic doses with other commonly used medications, no significant interactions occur.
Inhibitors of microsomal oxidation reduces the risk that hepatotoxic action will be developed.
The liver enzyme inducers of microsomal oxidation (ethanol, flumetsinol, phenylbutazone, fenitonin, rifampicin, tricyclic antidepressants, barbiturates) increases production of active hydroxylated metabolites, thereby increasing the risk that severe toxicity will develop.
The natriuretic effect of hydrochlorothiazide and furosemide decreases, as well as the hypotensive activity of vasodilators.
The effectiveness of uricosuric drugs is reduced.
Increased risk that bleeding will develop because of increased drug effects of fibrinolytics, indirect anticoagulants and antiaggregants.
Absorption of ibuprofen is reduced by colestyramine and antacids.
The drug enhances the likely side effects of estrogens, ethanol, GCS (increases the risk that there will be gastrointestinal bleeding), mineralocorticosteroids; derivatives of sulfonylurea in the interaction with the drug enhance their hypoglycemic effect.
The concentration of digoxin in the blood, as well as preparations of methotrexate and lithium increases.
Simultaneous reception of the drug with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs increases the frequency of possible side effects.
The effect of butyrofenones, quinidine, phenothiazines, blockers of H1-histamine receptors, amantadine, and m-holinoblockers is enhanced.
When the drug interacts with caffeine, the analgesic effect increases.
In the case of simultaneous administration with acetylsalicylic acid, its antiplatelet and anti-inflammatory effects are reduced (in patients who receive small doses of acetylsalicylic acid as an antiplatelet agent, after acute nausea, acute coronary insufficiency may develop with increased frequency).
Manifestations of hematotoxicity of the drug are enhanced by myelotoxic drugs.
In the case of simultaneous application of Novigan with cefoperazone, valproic acid, cefamandole, cefotetan or plikamycin, the frequency of hypoprothrombinemia increases.
Gold preparations and cyclosporin increase the effect of ibuprofen on synthesis in the kidneys of PG, the effect of which is manifested in increased nephrotoxicity. Plasma concentrations of cyclosporine, as well as the likelihood that its hepatotoxic effects will develop, are increased by ibuprofen.
Drugs that block tubular secretion, increase the plasma concentration of ibuprofen, and lower its excretion.
