Composition

One tablet in the shell contains 10 mg of domperidone and additional substances: aerosil, lactose, sodium carboxymethyl starch, PVP, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, silicon dioxide, polysorbate-80, titanium dioxide.
In one tablet for resorption contains 10 mg of domperidone and additional components: magnesium stearate, FS-95 adjuvant, glucose, starch, carboxymethyl starch and flavor (mint natural oil).

Form of issue

The medication is available in tablet form: tablets for resorption and tablets covered with a special coating. In each cardboard pack there are 30 tablets (3 blisters for 10 pieces).

By its structure, the active ingredient domperidone is similar to neuroleptics, and in terms of effectiveness it is comparable with metoclopramide. The active substance has no practical effect on the severity of gastric secretion and is not capable of causing extrapyramidal disorders.
By increasing the time of contraction of the walls of the duodenum and stomach, the drug has a positive effect on the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract. The drug accelerates the emptying of the stomach, without delaying the food lump.
Due to increased tone of the gastroesophageal sphincter, an antiemetic effect is achieved.

The active substance is absorbed rapidly after ingestion. Biological availability is about 15% (low). With a decreased acidity of the gastric juice, the absorption of the active ingredient decreases. The peak concentration is recorded after 60 minutes. The connection with plasma proteins is 93%.

Instructions for use: daily dose - 30 mg; single dose - 10 mg. It is recommended to take the medicine 30 minutes before meals. Tablets for resorption should be kept in the mouth until completely dissolved; tablets in the shell can not be broken, divided and chewed. In single cases, the daily amount of the drug can be increased to 60 mg.
Children (weight 20-30 kg) are prescribed for ½ tablets 2 times a day. At weight over 30 kg appoint 1 tablet twice a day.

Overdose

Extrapyramidal disorders, increased drowsiness, disorientation in space and time are recorded. It is recommended the appointment of enterosorbents (activated charcoal), timely gastric lavage, the appointment of post-syndrome therapy.
Antihistamines help to stop extrapyramidal disorders.

Interaction

Antisecretory agents and antacids can have a negative effect on the bioavailability of Motilak.
M-holinoblokatory reduces the ability of the drug in relation to the evacuation of the stomach and intestines.
Inhibitors of HIV protease, nefazodone, macrolides and azole agents increase the level of domperidone in the blood.
