The drug contains antacid substances - calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, which provide rapid and prolonged neutralization of excess hydrochloric acid of gastric juice, thereby providing a protective effect on the gastric mucosa.
The positive effect develops quickly in 3-5 minutes. The calcium and magnesium compounds are absorbed from the intestine insignificantly and therefore do not have systemic action.
Pharmacokinetics
The level of absorption of calcium and magnesium depends on the dose of the drug. The maximum level of absorption is 10% calcium and 15-20% magnesium. A small amount of absorbed calcium and magnesium is excreted through the kidneys. If the kidney function is disturbed, the level of calcium and magnesium concentration in the plasma may increase. In the intestine, soluble salts form insoluble compounds that are excreted with feces.
As a result of the interaction of Rennie with gastric juice in the stomach, soluble salts of calcium and magnesium are formed.
Calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate, interacting with hydrochloric acid of gastric juice, lead to the formation of carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O).

The drug Rennie Express is intended for use to eliminate symptoms caused by high acidity of the gastric juice: heartburn, feelings of overflow or heaviness in the epigastric region, flatulence, nausea, sour eructation, as well as after errors in diet, medication and alcohol, coffee, nicotine abuse.
