The unabsorbed part of the hydrotalcid in the intestine turns into insoluble phosphates, carbonates and is excreted with feces. Changes in the concentration of calcium, phosphorus, aluminum and magnesium in the blood are not observed. With normal kidney function, aluminum does not accumulate.
