It is produced in the form of pills, 10 pieces (5 red dragees and 5 blue pellets) in a blister, four such blisters in a paper package.
pharmachologic effect
Replenishment of micronutrient deficiencies and vitamins.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Pharmacodynamics
B vitamins are involved in the processes of protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism, are irreplaceable for the proper functioning of the nervous system. Retinol is indispensable for the development of epithelial cells and for the production of visual pigment. Vitamin D is responsible for absorption of calcium and mineralization of bone tissue. Ascorbic acid is responsible for iron absorption and is a necessary component of oxidation-reduction reactions in the body. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and a membrane protector.
Oligoelements and minerals are also extremely important. Calcium ions are involved in the regulation of the tone of the cardiac muscle and in the processes of the appearance of nerve impulses. And phosphorus and calcium are the necessary elements of bones and teeth. Copper and iron structural components of erythrocytes. Magnesium, zinc, manganese and molybdenum are constituents of a number of important enzymes.
Pharmacokinetics
Water-soluble vitamins (group B, ascorbic acid and biotin) are perfectly absorbed within the daily requirement. The remaining amount is excreted in urine and feces.
After intake, lipophilic vitamins A and D are absorbed in the presence of fats in the small intestine. Absorption of alpha-tocopherol is from 25% to 80% of the dose. These vitamins in a significant amount accumulate in the liver, because of this being potentially toxic.
Indications for use
Duovit vitamins are recommended for:
active leisure and sports;
mental and physical overload;
poor nutrition (elderly people, smokers suffering from alcoholism);
unbalanced nutrition (dry food, fast food);

severe loss of mineral substances (excessive menstruation, vomiting, diarrhea, increased sweating).
Contraindications
Allergy to drug components, hypervitaminosis A, E or D, renal failure.
Nephrolithiasis, hyperuricemia, gout, erythrocytosis, erythremia, fructose intolerance, thromboembolism, thrombophlebitis, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, impaired metabolism of copper or iron, chronic gromerulonephritis, history of sarcoidosis, hypercalciuria, hypercalcemia, thyrotoxicosis, gastric or duodenal ulcer, tuberculosis in active form.
Age is less than 10 years.
Side effects
On the part of immunity: allergic reactions, including anaphylactic shock, Quincke's edema, bronchospasm.
From the side of metabolism: hypercalcemia.
From the nervous system: headache, drowsiness.
From the viewpoint: visual disturbances.
On the part of the digestive system: nausea, dyspepsia, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, increased acidity.
From the skin: urticaria, rash, skin hyperemia.
From the excretory system: hypercalciuria.
General disorders: hyperthermia, sweating.
With long-term admission in large doses occur: hyperuricemia, hyperglycemia, paresthesia, arrhythmia, irritation of the mucosa of the digestive tract, dryness of the palms and feet, alopecia, seborrhea rash, renal damage, temporary increase in LDH, AST, alkaline phosphatase.
Instructions for use Duovit
This section indicates how to take Duovit correctly. If you take vitamins, as prescribed below, they do not cause unwanted effects.
Instructions for Duovit recommend taking vitamins orally in the morning after a meal. Swallow whole, wash with water.
For children from 10 years and adults -1 red dragées and 1 blue pellet per day. The course of therapy is 20 days (can be repeated on the recommendation of the attending physician).
Overdose
Symptoms: headache, hypervitaminosis D and A, vomiting, diarrhea.
There were no reports of an overdose when using the drug in recommended amounts.
Interaction
Do not apply Duovit simultaneously with tetracyclines and antacids, since it is possible to reduce the absorption of tetracycline and minerals. If the therapy requires the joint use of these drugs, the time interval between doses should be at least three hours.
Because of the possible occurrence of hypervitaminosis A, the simultaneous use of Duovit with agents containing retinol is not recommended.
It is necessary to avoid the use of vitamin E for people who use oral anticoagulants, as the probability of bleeding increases.
During the treatment with sulfonamides, it is recommended to avoid excessive amounts of ascorbic acid to prevent the development of crystalluria.
Riboflavin slows down adsorption and reduces the effectiveness of antibacterial drugs. It should be taken more than 3 hours before or after taking an antibiotic.

Azo dyes E110 and E124 are able to cause allergic reactions with asthmatic phenomena.
The development of allergies is also possible in persons with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.
Do not take Duovit together with other products containing minerals and vitamins.
