Composition

Rozamet ointment contains the active ingredient metronidazole (10 mg), propylene glycol, purified water, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, liquid paraffin, parahydroxybenzoate, glycerin, emulsifying wax.

Form release

Homogeneous 1% white cream has no smell. Available in an aluminum tube of 25 g, which is in a cardboard package.

Pharmacological action

The gel has a local Antiprotozoal and antimicrobial effect.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The active substance of the drug is metronidazole, which has antibacterial and Antiprotozoal activity, causing destruction of microbial cell DNA and stopping the synthesis of nucleic acids. It also has antioxidant activity, thereby reducing oxidative stress in the focus of inflammation.
The substance is not effective against spider veins, which are marked in pink acne.
The drug with local application is practically not absorbed. Data on metabolism and excretion of the active substance after topical application are not provided. Metronidazole is metabolized in the liver and excreted by the kidneys.

Indications for use

It is recommended to assign the cream Rozamet in the following cases:
with poststeroid rosacea (pink eels);
bedsores;
pink acne, which manifests itself during the age of hormonal changes;
trophic ulcer;
vulgar eels;
vulvovaginitis;
pustular skin lesions;
seborrheic dermatitis;
infection with a papular rash;
balanoposthitis;
infectious eczema;
dermatitis of unspecified origin.

Contraindications

Contraindicated Rozamet from acne patients with hypersensitivity to metronidazole, parabens derivatives, imidazole and similar compounds.
The drug is conventionally considered to be contraindicated during first trimester of pregnancy and in lactation period.

Side effect

During drug therapy Rozamet side effects are observed rarely and in a rather mild form, it can be easily transferred to the local application.
Most often there are allergic reactions, such as urticaria, rash, irritation (redness, burning, dryness, tingling, local temperature rise), itching. To cause this kind of reaction other substances in the preparation: parahydroxybenzoate and methyl parahydroxybenzoate. Allergic reaction may be delayed.
Selection of tears can be caused by applying a gel in the eye area.

Cream Rozamet, usage instructions (Method and dosage)

It is used externally.
Manual Rozamet in the treatment of erythema, inflamed pustules, papules, acne vulgaris: the skin must be cleaned with warm water or detergent, after the ointment is rubbed in a thin layer. The procedure must be repeated up to 2 times a day: morning and evening. The course of treatment is 1-2 months. After cleansing the skin, it should take at least 15 minutes before applying the gel, thus reducing the risk of inflammation. Therapeutic effect is observed on average in three weeks.
When balanoposthitis and vulvovaginitis a small amount of cream is applied using the fingers or a cotton swab slightly with rubbing this. Areas of application: lesions of the foreskin, the area of the labia minora, the head of the penis, the area of the vestibule of the vagina. The ointment is applied 1-2 times a day. The duration of treatment is usually from 8 to 10 days.

Overdose

Cases of overdose when using this drug are not recorded. Exceeding the therapeutic dose of metronidazole is unlikely. When applied locally, the substance is absorbed in small quantities, without having a systemic effect.

Interaction

Interaction of cream Rozamet the local application with other drugs have not been identified, this is recommended to use caution when concurrent use of this and other drugs.
Metronidazole enhances the anticoagulant effect of Warfarin and other coumarin anticoagulants. This leads to a longer period of prothrombin formation.
Reduced antimicrobial activity of phenobarbital in its interaction with metronidazole due to the accelerated metabolism of the latter.
Concurrent use with disulfiram Rosamma increases the level of toxicity of drugs, resulting in can develop neurological symptoms.
Cimetidine helps inhibit the metabolism of metronidazole, which can lead to an increase in its serum levels.
To avoid the development of disulfiram-like reaction during therapy with Rosamethrower should refrain from drinking alcohol.
