Form of formulation and composition of the preparation

The drug Cycloferon is available in the form of a transparent solution of yellow color, intended for intravenous and intramuscular injection. A solution in ampoules of 2 ml in volume of 5 pieces in a cardboard box, an instruction with detailed description is attached to the preparation.
In 1 ml of the drug contains 125 mg of active ingredient - Meglumina acridonoetata in recalculation for acridonacetic acid. As an auxiliary component is water for injection.

Indications for use

The drug Cycloferon solution is prescribed for adults and children in the form of injections as part of complex therapy with the following conditions:
    viral hepatitis A, B, C, D;
    HIV infection;
    meningitis, meningoencephalitis, Lyme disease;
    herpes simplex virus;
    cytomegalovirus infection;
    secondary immunodeficiency states caused by chronic viral, fungal or bacterial infections;
    chlamydial infection;
    Rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus;
    degenerative-dystrophic joint diseases.

Contraindications for Cycloferon for injections

Before using the solution for injections of Cycloferon, you should carefully read the attached instructions. The drug has a number of contraindications:
    the advanced stage of cirrhosis of the liver;
    children under 4 years;
    pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;
    individual intolerance of the drug components.

Dosing and Administration

The drug Cycloferon in the form of a solution will be given to patients in the form of injections. The drug is administered intramuscularly or intravenously once a day every other day. The duration of the course of treatment depends on the indications, characteristics of the patient's organism and the severity of the course of the disease.
With the virus of herpes simplex, cytomegalovirus infection and chlamydia, adults are prescribed 1 injection once a day for 10 days daily.
With meningitis, encepharitis and other serous infections, the drug Cycloferon solution is prescribed as part of a complex therapy of 500 mg (2 ampoules) for 12 days. If necessary, repeat the course of treatment with the drug.
In case of viral hepatitis and HIV infection, 2 stages are prescribed 500 mg of the drug once a day for 14 days as part of complex therapy.
In diseases of connective tissue, adults and children over 12 years of age are prescribed 250 mg of the drug daily for 10 days. If necessary, patients are prescribed an additional course.
When the drug is prescribed for children older than 4 years, the solution is administered intramuscularly or intravenously once a day. The dose of the drug is determined by the doctor for each individual child, but usually does not exceed 250 mg per day. The duration of the course of therapy with the drug is the same as in adults, if necessary, repeated courses of treatment are prescribed.

Use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation

The drug Cycloferon solution is not prescribed to women in the situation, since the experience of applying the solution in obstetrics is absent, and safety for the mother and fetus is not established.
If it is necessary to prescribe injections Cycloferon solution to breastfeeding mothers, women should decide on the completion of lactation, since it is not known about the ability of the main active substance to excrete with breast milk.

Adverse Events

The drug is usually well tolerated by patients. In individuals with increased individual sensitivity to Cycloferon solution, it is possible to develop side effects:
    increase in body temperature to subfebrile markings;
    allergic reactions - a rash on the skin, redness of the skin, dermatitis;

Overdose
