The drug Dexamethasone belongs to the group of corticosteroids and has a pronounced anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effect on the body. Dexamethasone in the form of eye drops is used in ophthalmology for the treatment of acute and chronic inflammatory processes of the visual apparatus, as well as for allergic reactions of the eyes or as a prophylactic agent after surgical interventions on the eye or trauma.

Form of formulation and composition of the preparation

Dexamethasone is available in the form of eye drops in plastic bottles with a volume of 5 ml in a cardboard bundle with the attached detailed instructions.
In 1 ml of the drug contains 1 mg of the main active ingredient - Dexamethasone sodium phosphate, as well as a number of excipients: water for injection, disodium edetate, borax, boric acid. The contents of the vial are sterile.

Pharmacological properties of the drug

The drug Dexamethasone belongs to the group of glucocorticosteroids of synthetic origin (hormones produced by the adrenal cortex). The main drops have a powerful anti-inflammatory and antiallergic effect. Immediately after instillation of the drug into the conjunctival sac begins its action and persists for 8 hours.     Keratitis;
    Blepharitis;
    Iridocyclitis;

    Sclerit;

    Uveitis.

Contraindications to use
