Form of release and medicinal composition

The drug Sinecod Syrup is available in several dosage forms. The syrup is available in 100 and 200 ml glass bottles in a cardboard box with the attached detailed instructions. In a set with a bottle there is a convenient transparent cap with dimensional divisions, thanks to which you can accurately measure the dose of the medicine. The syrup is transparent, has a pleasant smell and taste of vanilla.
The main active substance of the drug is butamyrate citrate, in 1 ml of syrup it contains 1.5 mg. In addition, the syrup contains a number of auxiliary substances: sorbitol solution, glycerol, vanillin, purified water, ethanol 96%, benzoic acid.

Indications

Syrup Sinecod at the reflex level suppresses an attack of dry cough. This drug is prescribed in the following cases:
    treatment of dry non-productive cough in the complex therapy;
    preparation of the patient for bronchoscopy to suppress cough;
    Postoperative period after surgery on the respiratory system;
    whooping cough.

Contraindications

The drug has a number of serious contraindications and limitations, so you should carefully read the instructions before using the syrup. The Syrup Sinecod is contraindicated in the following cases:
    age of the child up to 2 months (for the drug in the form of drops);
    age of the child under 3 years (for the given dosage form);
    pregnancy (1 trimester) and the period of breastfeeding;
    individual intolerance of the drug components.

Dosing and Administration

Syrup Sinecod is taken orally before meals. The dose of the drug and the duration of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the patient's age, body weight, diagnosis and severity of the disease.
According to the instructions, the drug is prescribed in the following dosage:
    children from 3 to 6 years - 5 ml 3 times a day;
    children 6-12 years - 10 ml 3 times a day;
    children 12-16 years old - 15 ml 3 times a day;
    adults - 15 ml 4 times a day.
As a rule, the duration of the course of treatment does not exceed a week, but if the symptoms persist, the patient should consult a doctor again for correction of therapy.
