pharmachologic effect

Ointment has antipruritic, antiallergic, vasoconstrictive, anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory action.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Lorinden A is a combined preparation intended for external use, having anti-inflammatory, keratolytic and other effects due to its composition. One of its active substances - flumetasone pivalate, refers to synthetic GCS. It is characterized by anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous, anti-allergic and antipruritic effects. At the same time, the activity of phospholipase A2 inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes inhibiting the release of mediators of inflammatory processes is inhibited. In addition, the effect of the drug reduces the migration of leukocytes and lymphocytes in the inflammatory focus. Also, prevention of the marginal accumulation of neutrophils, which reduces inflammatory exudate and production of cytokines, inhibits the migration of macrophages, which reduce infiltration and granulation. Flumethasone pivalat significantly reduces proteolytic activity of cinnamins of tissues, inhibits the development of fibroblasts, prevents the growth of connective tissue at the site of inflammation. Reduces hyperemia, hypersensitivity reactions, exudative and proliferative processes that occur in connective tissues in the foci of inflammation. The other active ingredient, salicylic acid, is an NSAID that promotes the penetration of GCS, complementing the drug with antiparakeratotic, mild keratolytic and local hypothermic action. Moreover, salicylic acid improves the penetration into the skin of Flumethasone. Antibacterial and fungicidal action is also manifested, restoration of protective functions of the skin is established. At the same time secretion of sebaceous or sweat glands is suppressed, loosening of the epithelium, which facilitates the removal of scales. Clinical practice has shown that the absorption of flumethasone pivalate in children is stronger compared to adult patients. Especially it is exposed to skin areas - on the face, skin folds, damaged surfaces, occlusive dressings. For this preparation, a rapid distribution is characteristic after penetration into the body. The fact is that it is provided by salicylic acid, which accelerates and facilitates the absorption of flumethasone pivalate. Metabolism of the drug occurs mainly in the liver. Excretion is carried out mainly in the urine and slightly with bile in the form of compounds supplemented with glucuronic acid and unchanged substances.

Lorinden A Ointment, Instructions for Use (Method and Dosage)

This external tool is recommended to apply to the affected area with a thin layer every day 2-3 times. When acute inflammation is removed, you can reduce the use up to 1-2 times. The disappearance of painful symptoms is not the reason for the discontinuation of the drug, since treatment should be continued for at least 3-4 days.
Chronic skin lesions require stable therapy for 3 weeks. In addition, the use of an occlusive dressing is allowed, which is changed after 1-2 days. In this case, it is possible to control the degree of moistening of particularly dry areas by the thickness of the outer layer, depending on the therapeutic requirements established for the particular case.

Overdose

Cases of overdose occur rarely. This can occur during the use of the drug in extensive areas of skin, which causes systemic manifestations of GCS or salicylate poisoning.

Interaction

The use of Lorinden A during vaccination or immunization may enhance its immunosuppressive effect. Also, a combination of this drug with other external drugs is not allowed. Systemic absorption of the GKS preparation can significantly reduce the effect of insulin, hypotensive drugs, oral hypoglycemic agents and anticoagulants, and reduce the concentration of praziquantel in the blood. The simultaneous use of Lorinden A with certain medicines increases the risk of side effects, for example, with androgens, estrogens, oral contraceptives, anabolic steroids, antipsychotic drugs, bucarban, azathioprine, anticholinergic drugs, antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressants, nitrates, diuretics and some others.

Reviews about Lorinden A

Despite the fact that Lorinden A ointment is a hormonal drug that can be prescribed only by a specialist, many patients use it on their own. At the same time, the opinion about this external means has developed very differently. To some people the remedy helps to get rid of skin lesions and improve the quality of life. However, others report that the effect manifests itself only temporarily or does not occur at all.
You can also find messages when patients refuse to use this tool, even if it was prescribed by a dermatologist. The reason for this lies in the fact that the drug is hormonal. In fact, if the treatment is appointed by a specialist after carrying out the necessary studies, then it is possible to apply the external agent safely. In cases where the appointment of a doctor is questionable, you can always go to another specialist who can confirm or deny the initial diagnosis and therapy regimen.
