Composition

The preparation includes the active components: flumethasone pivalate and clioquinol, as well as petroleum jelly and wax white.

Form of issue

It is produced by Lorinden C in the form of an ointment for 15 g in tubes.

pharmachologic effect

This medicine has antimicrobial, antipruritic, anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory action.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The active component of the drug - Flumethasone, is a synthetic bifluoride GCS, intended for outdoor use. The substance has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antipruritic, decongestant and vasoconstrictive effect. Influencing the skin, the drug can prevent the accumulation of neutrophils, reducing inflammatory exudate and production of lymphokines, inhibits the migration of macrophages, reduces the processes of infiltration and granulation, and so on.
Clioquinol or iodochlorooxyquinoline refers to derivatives of 8-hydroxyquinolines. Its activity is manifested in yeast fungi, dermatophytes, gram-positive bacteria. In addition, the antiexudative effect of Flumethasone is enhanced.
The combined effects of Flumethasone and Clioquinol suppress the development of various inflammatory-allergic reactions on the skin surfaces, which can be complicated by bacterial or fungal infections.
Due to the fatty base, the ointment has an emollient and water repellent effect, which provides a protective film that protects the skin from moisture. This drug is suitable for use in patients who have dry and thin skin.
After application of the agent to the skin, its active substances penetrate the stratum corneum. In this case, flumethasone pivalate is not absorbed into the blood stream, does not have a systemic effect. Increased absorption occurs as a result of frequent use of the ointment or its application on large areas of the skin. This can be expected even during application of the agent on the face, in the skin folds, in the places of damage to the epidermis, under the occlusive dressing. It should be noted that the effect of the substance in children is particularly pronounced. Clioquinol in the composition of the ointment is absorbed through the skin, binding to blood plasma proteins.
Active substances are slightly metabolized in the structure of the skin. Mostly this process occurs in the liver. Then the components are removed from the body as part of urine or bile.

Reviews about Lorinden C

As the testimonials of Lorinden C show, this external remedy is one of the most popular. It is prescribed for a variety of lesions of the skin, and in most cases, it is very effective.
However, some patients report that the positive effect of the drug remains only for a while, that is, it simply inhibits the development of unwanted symptoms. After stopping the use of Lorinden C patients again begin to worry the same violations.
In the opinion of specialists, such a result of treatment was noted with the appointment of an external remedy without sufficient examination by specialists, since quite often people do not even know exactly what Lorinden C. ointment is for. Also, many reviews about ointments contain information that patients often use the drug themselves without resorting to the doctor. Therefore, in such cases, it should not be excluded once the temporary cessation of the symptoms of the disease, and the development of all sorts of side effects.
