Composition
One tablet contains: 2 mg or 4 mg Tizanidine is the active ingredient.
Additional substances: sodium carboxymethyl starch, lactose anhydrous, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.
Form of issue
The drug Tisalud is available in the form of tablets of 2 and 4 mg, 30 pieces in one package.
pharmachologic effect
Miorelaxing, central action.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Tisalud is a muscle relaxant showing a central effect.
The effect of tizanidine on presynaptic α2-adrenergic receptors causes inhibition of the excretion of amino acids from spinal intermediate neurons, which leads to inhibition of the polysynaptic spread of the pulse in the spinal cord. By this mechanism of action, muscle tissue tone is lowered. In parallel with the miorelaksiruyuschim effect tizanidine shows a moderate analgesic effect.
Tisalud tablets are effective in acute painful muscle spasms, as well as chronic spasms of cerebral and spinal etiology. Taking the drug reduces clonic seizures and spasticity of the muscles, as a result of which the counteraction to passive movements decreases and the possibility of active actions increases.
Indications for use
Muscle spasms in pathologies of the spine, accompanied by pain syndrome, including hemiplegia, spondylosis, osteochondrosis, syringomyelia, lumbar and cervical syndromes.
Postoperative period after surgical intervention for osteoarthritis of the femoral joint and intervertebral hernia.
Pain syndrome and spasticity of muscles caused by neurological diseases, including chronic myelopathy, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, degenerative changes in the spinal cord, stroke, circulatory disorders of the brain, craniocerebral trauma, convulsions of the central genesis.

Tablets Tisalud, instructions for use
Tablets of the drug are taken orally (by mouth), washed down with water, regardless of food.
Instructions for the use of Tisalud in neurological pathologies that cause spastic painful muscle contraction, recommends starting treatment with a daily dose of 6 mg, taken in three divided doses. Every subsequent 3-7 days, depending on the nature of the pain and spasm, increase the dose by 2-4 mg. The maximum therapeutic effect is observed when taking a daily dose of 12-24 mg. The dose of 36 mg is the maximum allowable daily dose.
To stop painful spasm of skeletal muscles, 3-day daily administration of Tisalud is prescribed for 2-4 mg. In especially difficult situations, an additional intake of 2-4 mg per night is recommended.
The duration of Tisalud depends on the dynamics of pain and muscle-tonic manifestations. Acute muscle pain usually requires therapy for 7-21 days. Chronic pain syndrome, depending on the origin and severity, may need a longer treatment, which is determined on an individual basis and sometimes continues for up to 1 year.
Overdose
With a gross violation of the dosage regimen and the administration of elevated doses of Tisalud, nausea, vomiting, development of hypotension, drowsiness, dizziness, miosis, respiratory disturbance, anxiety, coma were observed.
Recommend immediate gastric lavage, cleaning the bowels with enema, taking activated charcoal, conducting forced diuresis and further symptomatic therapy.
