Composition

The composition of 1 ml of a 4% solution (drops of the eye) is 40 mg of taurine, as an active ingredient.
Auxiliary Ingredients:
    1 mg of methylparaben;
    1 M sodium hydroxide solution (until a pH of 5.0-6.5 is achieved);
    Purified water (until 1 ml of solution is obtained).

Form of issue

The drug Taufon is available in the form of eye drops:
    in a tube-droppers of 1.5 ml; 2 ml or 5 ml, one package can hold 1; 2; 4; 5; 10 tubes of droppers;
    in the bottles-droppers of 5 ml or 10 ml, one package can contain 1 or 2 bottles of a dropper;
    in bottles of 5 ml, one package can hold 1 or 5 bottles.

Taufon eye drops include the active ingredient - taurine, which is a sulfonic acid (a sulfur-containing amino acid) formed during the transformation of cysteine ​​in the body. Taurine takes an active part in stimulating reparation and regeneration in dystrophic diseases of the organs of vision, as well as in pathologies accompanied by acute disruption of metabolic processes in the tissues of the eye.
Eye drops Taufon normalize the functionality of cell membranes, activate metabolic and energy processes, preserve the electrolyte balance of the cytoplasm due to the accumulation of calcium and potassium ions, improve the transmission of the nerve impulse.
Due to its topical application, Taufon drops have low systemic absorption.

Indications for use

    corneal dystrophy;
    cataracts (senile, ray, traumatic and others);
    open-angle glaucoma (primary) in combination with β-blockers, in order to increase the yield of aqueous humor;
    damage to the cornea (as a stimulant of reparative cellular processes).

Contraindications

    hypersensitivity to taurine or additional ingredients;
    age to 18 years.

Side effects

In patients with open-angle glaucoma, there was a significant increase in antihypertensive effects of β-blockers (Proxodolol, Timolol and others) in the case of combined use with Taufon.
Strengthening the action of the drug is achieved by reducing the release of aqueous humor and increasing the degree of ease of outflow.
