Composition

In the composition of one suppository Vitaprost Plus, active substances include 100 mg of prostate extract and 400 mg of lomefloxacin hydrochloride.

Vitaprost Plus is a combined agent with anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action, used for lesions of the prostate gland.
Lomefloxacin is an antibacterial agent of a broad spectrum of bactericidal action, belongs to the group of fluoroquinolones. Effects on the enzyme DNA-girazes of bacteria responsible for the super-convolution of DNA, disrupts the replication and transcription of DNA, which leads to the death of the bacterial cell.
It has high activity against aerobic gram-negative microorganisms: Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris, Neisseria meningitidis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Escherichia coli, Citrobacter diversus, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Moraxella morganii, Enterobacter cloacae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Haemophilus influenzae, Legionella pneumophila.
Has moderate activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Serratia liquifaciens, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Serratia marcescens, Chlamydia trachomatis, Hafnia alvei, Aeromonas hydrophila, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Citrobacter freundii, Proteus mirabilis, Providencia rettgeri, Proteus stuartii, Providencia alcalifaciens, Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella ozaenae, Klebsiella oxytoca, Enterobacter agglomerans.
Streptococcus spp., Treponema pallidum, Mycoplasma hominis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Pseudomonas cepacia and anaerobic bacteria are resistant to the drug.
On the vast majority of bacteria, lomefloxacin acts in small concentrations (usually up to 1 μg / ml). The development of resistance is rare.
Extract of the prostate has an organotropic effect on the prostate gland. Reduces the degree of edema, leukocyte infiltration, leads to a physiological state of the secretory function, increases the amount of lecithin grains, strengthens the muscle tonus of the walls of the bladder. It inhibits thrombus formation, demonstrates antiaggregant activity, prevents venous thrombosis in the prostate. Normalizes the clinical characteristics of the prostate and ejaculate. Reduces pain and discomfort, activates the copulatory function.

Indications for use

    Acute or chronic prostatitis of an infectious nature that is caused by micro-organisms susceptible to lomfloxacin, including those accompanied by diseases of the genitourinary system of an inflammatory nature.
    Before and after surgical operations on the prostate gland.

Contraindications

    Age is less than 18 years.
    Hypersensitivity to Vitaprost Plus components.
With special care apply the drug for epilepsy, cerebral atherosclerosis or other disorders of the nervous system with epileptic syndrome.

Side effects

The side effects of the drug, with the exception of hypersensitivity reactions, are associated with the presence of lomefloxacin in its formulation.
