Nazol Baby is a vasoconstrictor drug that is used in otolaryngological practice.
Composition, form of release
The medicine is produced in the form of transparent nasal drops, having a light yellow color, there is no smell. 1 ml of the preparation contains 1.25 mg of the active compound in the form of phenylephrine hydrochloride.
Pharmacological properties
The drug has a vasoconstrictive effect and is intended for the treatment of diseases of the ear, throat and nose. The active component of the drug refers to sympathomitics and due to the stimulation of alpha1-adrenoreceptors of the mucous membranes of the nose, a vasoconstrictive effect is manifested. As a result of influence on these receptors, swelling, reddening of the mucous membrane of the nose, stagnation, as well as nasal airways are cleared.
Penetration of the drug into the blood with local use is very low. The effectiveness of the drug is observed after 5 minutes after the first application. The vasoconstrictor effect lasts for 6 hours. Signs of rhinitis disappear after 3-5 days after the start of therapy.
Indications for use
Medication is prescribed as symptomatic therapy for the following diseases:
Allergic diseases that are caused by plant pollen and accompanied by acute rhinitis;
Frontitis, sinusitis, sinusitis in acute form;
Rhinitis in acute form with flu or colds.
Local manifestations: tingling and tingling in the nasal cavity, burning sensation;
Cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure, arrhythmia, palpitations;
CNS: worsening of sleep, tremor, dizziness, headache;
Other: pallor, increased sweating.

Dosing regimen
Drops are for intranasal use. During the instillation procedure, the head should be thrown back. The bottle should be kept bottomed up. Pressing it is necessary to make several times for reception of the necessary quantity of drops.
Children aged 2 months to 1 year are recommended to apply 1 drop at most 4 times per day. The interval between the instillation procedure should not exceed 6 hours.
Children aged 1 to 6 years are recommended to assign 1 or 2 drops with the same multiplicity and interval.
Children older than 6 years are recommended to use 3 or 4 drops.

Therapy lasts no more than 3 days.
Overdose
Cases of drug use in dosage exceeding the therapeutic norm are absent.
The use of high dosages of medication can lead to the development of symptoms such as arousal, a feeling of heaviness in the limbs and head, ventricular extrasystole, increased blood pressure, tachycardia.

Drug Interactions
Parallel administration of guanethin, antidepressant tricyclics, MAO inhibitors, maprotiline is able to enhance the arrhythmogenicity and pressor action of the active component of the drug.
Joint reception of thyroid hormones can increase the likelihood of coronary insufficiency.
Lactation, pregnancy
