Nazol instruction for use

You can buy Nazol on this page

Intranasal remedy Nazol is a good vasoconstrictor medication, which contains the active substance - oxymetazoline. Since the active ingredient is an imidazoline derivative, the drug has a long vasoconstrictive effect (up to 12 hours).
In this article we will consider why doctors prescribe Nazol, including instructions for use, analogues and prices for this drug in pharmacies. REAL COMMENTS of people who have already used Nazol can be read in the comments.

Composition and form of release

I release nasal drops of 15 or 30 ml, in a plastic bottle with a nebulizer. Fassut in a cardboard box on one vial or flask. The spray looks like a clear, colorless liquid, sometimes pale yellow. Has a smell of eucalyptus.
    In 1 ml of the spray contains: 0.5 mg of oxymetazoline hydrochloride and auxiliary substances (macrogol, benzalkonium chloride, povidone, propylene glycol, sodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, edetate disodium dihydrate, purified water).
Clinico-pharmacological group: vasoconstrictive drug for topical application in ENT-practice.

Indications for use

Instructions for use of the considered nasal drops and nasal sprays (aerosols) contain a list of indications in which they are recommended for use:
    ARVI;
    flu;
    colds;
    acute otitis media;

They are also prescribed in preparation for diagnostic procedures or surgery in the nose area and for the removal of edema of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses after surgical intervention.

pharmachologic effect

The drug Nazol is designed for topical application. It has strong androgenymimetic activity due to the action of the active components of its constituents.
    The vasoconstrictor effect of Nazoleum makes it easier to breathe through the nose and eliminate swelling of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract. This is a consequence of the most active component of the drug - phenylephrine hydrochloride (belonging to the group of alpha1-adrenomimetics). Which, also, without disturbing the function of the nasal mucosa, is able to eliminate stagnant phenomena in it.
In addition, Nazol has a moisturizing and soothing effect, which is due to the properties of the glycerol entering it.

Instructions for use

According to the instructions for use, Nazol spray is applied intranasally, injecting into each nasal passage no more than 2 times a day. When using do not tilt the head back and do not spray in the prone position.

Recommended dosing:

    Adults and children over 12 years of age - 2 - 3 injections into each nasal passage 2 times / day.
    Children from 6 to 12 years - 1 injection in each nasal passage 2 times / day.
Do not use the drug more than 2 times / day. Duration of treatment: it is not recommended to use the drug for more than 3 days.
