Form of formulation and composition of the preparation

Gioxisone is available in the form of an ointment for external use. Ointment is a homogeneous substance of white color without any specific odor. The preparation is produced in an aluminum tube of 10 g in a cardboard bundle.
The main active ingredients of the drug are oxytetracycline hydrochloride and hydrocortisone acetate.

Pharmacological properties of the drug

Ointment Gioxisone is a combined preparation of local effects, which exerts antiallergic, anti-inflammatory, anti-edematous and antibacterial effects on the skin.
The oxytetracycline included in the preparation belongs to antibiotics from the tetracycline group, due to which the inhibition of growth and reproduction of pathogenic microflora occurs under the influence of the drug. This substance shows a high therapeutic activity against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, pale treponema, rickettsia, mycopath and others.
Hydrocortisone, which is part of the preparation, is a glucocorticosteroid agent that exerts a pronounced anti-edematous, anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and anti-allergic effect. Under the influence of ointment, the patient quickly falls swelling of the skin, redness disappears, itching and local hyperthermia disappear.

Indications for use

Ointment Gioxisone is prescribed to patients for treatment of the following conditions:
    Infected wounds;
    Frontal lacerations and various skin lesions that occur with attachment of a secondary bacterial infection;
    Wet eczema and neurodermatitis;
    Erysipelas of the skin;
    Contact dermatitis;
    Insect bites;
    Carbuncles and boils;
    Trophic ulcers that occur against the background of the progression of varicose veins;
    Frostbite or burns, accompanied by suppuration of affected areas.

Contraindications for Gioxisone

The drug can be used to treat the pathological processes of the skin only after a preliminary consultation with a doctor. Before the start of therapy, you should carefully read the attached instructions, since Gioxisone Ointment has a number of limitations and contraindications for use. Contraindications include:
    Individual intolerance to the components of the drug;
    There are serious allergic reactions to the drugs of the tetracycline group in the anamnesis;
    Fungal or viral skin lesions;
    Necrosis of tissues;
    Pregnancy and lactation;
    Severe liver or kidney damage;
    Heart failure in the stage of decompensation;

Dosing and Administration

The duration of the course of therapy with the drug and the daily dose is determined by the doctor, depending on the indications and individual tolerability of the components of the ointment.
According to the instructions, the Gioxisone ointment should be applied to the affected areas of the skin, after cleaning them from the crusts and purulent contents, with a thin layer 2 times a day.
