Composition

In the composition of 1 gram of pantoderm (5%) ointment, intended for external use, contains 50 milligrams of the active drug dexpanthenol.
In addition, the preparation contains such auxiliary substances as: water, petrolatum, almond or vaseline oil, anhydrous lanolin, cetostearyl and lanolin alcohol, white wax.

Form of issue

Pantoderm cream is produced in an aluminum tube, with a nominal volume of 25 or 30 grams, packed in a cardboard box (in 1 packet 1 tube with ointment).

The active drug has an anti-inflammatory, metabolic, and regenerative effect.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Under the influence of dexpanthenol, pantothenic acid is formed in the human body, which belongs to the active metabolites and is a part of coenzyme A. In turn, this biologically active compound participates in the vast majority of metabolic processes and as a catalyst triggers the acetylation of choline, and also influences the formation of corticosteroids.
With topical application of the drug, the drug is quickly absorbed and converted to pantothenic acid, which binds to plasma proteins such as albumin and beta-globulin, thereby promoting regeneration of damaged skin, accelerating mitosis, and increasing the strength of collagen fibers.

Indications for use

The drug is recommended for use in the presence of the following diseases or ailments:
    dry skin;
    dermatitis, intertrigo, pressure sores, abscesses;
    Skin diseases, for example, psoriasis;
    burns and wounds, including aseptic postoperative.
In addition, the drug can be used during lactation for the treatment and prevention of inflammation or cracks in the mammary glands, as well as boils after sanitation and dissection. Pantoderm helps to prevent the development of diaper rash in infants and promotes the healing of skin grafts.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to active medicinal components, which are part of its chemical composition.
