pharmachologic effect

Bystrumgel is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-exudative properties. It is used for local treatment of joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The effect of the drug is associated with indiscriminate inhibition of COX-1 and COX-2, which leads to the interruption of the arachidonic acid cycle. As a result of the action of the gel, a decrease in the excretion of bradycardin, histamine and prostaglandins is observed, because of which the exudative phase of the inflamed processes is suppressed. The effect on cyclooxygenase isoenzymes causes a decrease in the permeability of the vessel walls.
The active substance of the drug inhibits oxidative phosphorylation, which leads to a disruption of the normal synthesis of glycosaminoglycans and inhibits the development of the fibrinoid stage of inflammation in the case of rheumatoid pathologies.
Ketoprofen also inhibits energy metabolism by reducing the synthesis of ATP. This causes a decrease in the energy supply of the inflammation focus. In addition, the active component of the gel inhibits free-radical reactions and helps in protecting the membranes from damages caused by free radicals.
The analgesic effect of the drug is explained by a decrease in the sensitizing effect of prostaglandins. The degree of expression of edema and inflammation decreases, this leads to a decrease in pressure on pain receptors, due to which nociceptive sensations also become less pronounced.
Bioavailability of the drug is 5%. With local use, it absorbs very slowly and almost does not accumulate in the patient's body.
