Composition

1 capsule contains 200 mg or 300 mg of Hepatenic acid (D, L) - the active substance.
Auxiliary ingredients according to the mass content of the active substance:
    1.02 mg or 1.53 mg of magnesium stearate;
    13.98 mg or 20.97 mg of microcrystalline cellulose.
Capsules:
    gelatin;

Pantogam, the active, in its structure, contains gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), directly affecting the GABAK receptor-channel complex. The drug is a racemic mixture of equivalent fractions of Hopantenic acid in the R form and its S-isomer, which improves the transport and interaction of the drug with the GABA receptors. The Pantogam preparation has a more pronounced anticonvulsant and nootropic effect than the first-generation drugs containing Hopantenic acid.
Pantogam, an active increases the resistance of the brain to a lack of oxygen (hypoxia), as well as to the effects of substances poisoning it, activates anabolic processes in the neurons of the brain, combines a mild stimulating effect with a mild sedative effect. It shows mild anti-anxiety and anti-asthenic activity. Reduces motor excitability, activates physical and mental activity, organizes behavior. Prevents the pathological increase of the vesicle reflex, as well as the detrusor tone.

Indications for use

    epilepsy (with concomitant use of anticonvulsants);
    cerebrovascular insufficiency, due to atherosclerotic pathologies of cerebral vessels;
    cognitive impairment in neurotic disorders, as well as caused by organic brain lesions (including the consequences of craniocerebral trauma and neuroinfections);
    extrapyramidal hyperkinesis (Parkinson's disease, Huntington's chorea, myoclonus-epilepsy, hepatolenticular degeneration, etc.), therapy of extrapyramidal syndrome, which was caused by the use of neuroleptics;
    reduction of physical and mental activity, psycho-emotional overload, with the aim of improving memory and concentration of attention;
    schizophrenia (used as part of complex treatment);
    neurogenic disorders of urination (enuresis, pollakiuria, imperative urinary retention, imperative urge to urinate).

Contraindications

    hypersensitivity to Hepatenic acid or other capsule ingredients;
    severe or acute kidney pathology;
    period of breastfeeding;
    the first trimester of pregnancy;

Side effects

In some cases, allergic reactions (rashes on the skin, conjunctivitis, rhinitis) were observed. In case of manifestation of these symptoms, a dose reduction or complete withdrawal of therapy is recommended.
