Hepatoprotective.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

Essentiale phospholipids (EF), being the basic structural components of cellular membranes of hepatocytes and their organelles, take an active part in cell differentiation and division, as well as their regeneration.
The substance contained in the preparation is a highly purified fraction of phosphatidylcholine, in which the determining component is dilinoleoylphosphatidylcholine.
In terms of their chemical structure, EFs resemble endogenous phospholipids, but due to their PUFA content (in particular linoleic acid) they exceed them in functional properties.
The functional significance of the EPL is based on their amphiphilicity, through which they can regulate the permeability of membranes.
They improve the function of cell walls and, in particular, the process of biological oxidation and ion exchange reactions; affect the process of oxidative phosphorylation in the energy metabolism (catabolism) of cells and increase the activity of enzymes bound to the membranes of mitochondria.
In physiological conditions, phospholipids are synthesized by the body in quantities that satisfy the normal needs of the liver cells. However, with organ diseases, the function of enzyme systems, as well as the structure and function of cell membranes are violated.
In particular, these processes are expressed in the mitochondria. This is due to the fact that mitochondria, in which the most important metabolic processes occur, are approximately one-third composed of phospholipids.
Deficiency of phospholipids causes a violation of fat metabolism, which in turn leads to the development of fatty liver hepatosis.
Contained in the preparation EPL due to its pharmacological properties contribute to the elimination of listed disorders, the reactivation of enzyme systems and the cell membrane apparatus, enhance the ability of the liver to destroy and render harmless toxic substances and thus improve its function.

Pharmacokinetics

Phospholipids are absorbed mainly (about 90% of the dose) in the small intestine. Under the influence of phospholipase-A, most of them are split up to 1-acyl-lysophosphatidylcholine, more than half of which immediately reacetylates to polyunsaturated phosphatidylcholine (PFC) (even when absorbed into the intestinal mucosa).
With the current of lymph, the PFC enters the systemic bloodstream, and from there, mainly in the condition associated with HDL, to the liver.
The choline part of the EPL, when carrying out drug pharmacokinetics studies with dililineoleylphosphatidylcholine, was reported as 3H, the residue of linoleic acid as 14C.
TShamah 3H - 6-24 hours (19.9% of the prescribed dose), T1 / 2 3H - 66 hours.
Tsmakh 14C - 4-12 hours (up to 27.9% of the prescribed dose), T1 / 2 14C - 32 hours.
In fecal masses about 2% of 3H and about 4.5% of 14C are detected, in the urine contains 6% of the accepted dose of 3H, 14C is detected in minimal concentrations.

Indications for use

Indications for use Essentiale Forte N:
    hepatitis (different forms and etiology), fatty hepatosis, cirrhosis and liver intoxication, organ dysfunction against other somatic diseases;
    toxicosis / gestosis of pregnant women;
    psoriasis;
    radiation syndrome.

Is it possible to take Essentiale Forte N tablets (capsules) for prophylaxis?

The use of the drug for prophylactic purposes is indicated with the threat of recurrence of cholelithiasis.
In addition, the appointment of hepatoprotectors often makes sense against the background of antibiotic treatment.

Contraindications

The main contraindication is a known hypersensitivity to phosphatidylcholine or accessory capsule components.

Side effects

Patients in the vast majority of cases tolerate the drug well, but sometimes taking capsules can cause softening of the stool (or diarrhea), as well as discomfort in the abdomen.
Very rarely (less often than in one of 10 thousand cases) side effects manifest themselves in the form of skin allergic reactions: itching, rash, hives, exanthema.

Instructions for use Essentiale Forte N

Following the instructions on Essentiale Fort H, the capsules are taken whole, washed down with a large amount of liquid (about 200 ml).

The duration of treatment of Essentiale Forte N is unlimited.
Often, patients have the question "How to take Essentiale Forte for prevention?". Doctors and pharmacists answer it as follows: the drug is more intended to treat existing diseases, and not to prevent them, in the same cases when Essentiale is prescribed to prevent the re-formation of gallstones, the standard treatment regimen is 2 capsules 3 times a day.

Reviews about Essentiale Fort H

Reviews of doctors and patients in 9 out of 10 cases are very good. Essentiale contains high-purity phospholipids that contribute to the restoration of damaged hepatocytes and normalize the exchange of proteins and lipids.
Pharmacological properties of the drug can successfully use it in different categories of patients (including pregnancy), as well as a wide range of diseases.
The efficacy and safety of Essentiale has been confirmed by clinical studies, whereas for most generic drugs such studies have not been conducted.
Advantageously, the drug differs from analogues and that is also proved in a number of studies. In Essentiale capsules, peroxidation products are contained in significantly fewer amounts than in preparations of other manufacturers (for example, in Essley Forte or Phosphogliv capsules).
